  1. Took my girlfriend to see Frozen today, she hates Tangled and Les Mis and other musicals. She liked it! Close enough to a victory in my book!
  2. Was watching Mary Poppins earlier. Julie Andrews was fucking hot back in the day!
  3. The live Action Casper film from 94 was my first theater experience. I never got to see The Lion King in original release. All my other theater firsts have been pretty good: First 3D was My Bloody Valentine while my first IMAX screening was a sold out morning show off The Dark Knight in Feb 09! Insane that there was so much demand it still sold out 8 months later!
  4. I really enjoyed that, I'm not sure whether we'll ever find out for certain how he survived though.
  5. I was pretty worried for a long while as the last couple of times the term "critical condition" was used about racers was Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli who both died later. Thankfully he seems to at least be fighting just like he always has, but we aren't out of the woods yet.
  6. Now you See Me, Thor The Dark World and Catching Fire (Frozen to be added on Saturday) at theatresCaught Man of Steel, Star Trek into Darkness, Pacific Rim, Fast and Furious 6 and Despicable Me 2 at home.
  7. How will you see 12 Years and Osage County? They're both 15's. Or have you found a suitably shitty Odeon
  8. Wouldn't have done much better here really. Next week is 12YAS here, the week after is Wolf of Wall Street.
  9. Yup, here's the Odeon (No Last Vegas either) http://www.odeon.co.uk/cinemas/hastings/94/ And here's the Cineworld http://www.cineworld.co.uk/cinemas/20?cookieLevel=1111&locale=GB&secure=false&embedded=false&fallback=false&gbLocale=true&isMobileAgent=false Last time a PA came out it had 2 screens, so this is a HUGE fall from grace!
  10. It's not getting released at all near me. Last Vegas and Mandela have taken preference over PA. It's a dying franchise.
  11. I regret not seeing The Conjuring at the cinema. Would have been even scarier!
  12. Part of the reason for the increase discrepancy is simple though:The first Thor film had 3D, Iron Man 2 did not. Thor also came out when 3D was at the height of it's powers all over the place compared to the places where its appeal has dipped dramatically. As has been said before, in places like Australia the 3D share went from 65%+ down to 35% for The Dark World which offset the potential gains in admissions that it had from the first Thor film compared to Iron Man.
  13. Obviously Skyfall is thebig ticket wwe're missing this year, but I'm still massively impressed. We're going to have 12 films that have hit the £25m Mark this year! 12! Strength has certainly been present in depth this year, with the wealth spread much more between releases than the last few years.
  14. I had to watch that in film studies. At least if was better than Breathless.
  15. Fell asleep watching Turbo for the second night in a row. I'll finish it at some point.
  16. Die hard. Fuck that fucking shit! Cloudy 2 was also one of the biggest disappointments this year for me. Bling Ring was a tedious chore too.
  17. I hate Shrek 3 with a passion. It took everything that was good about the first two, and thought that bigger would have been the better course of action. Unfortunately the larger amount of potty humor and shoehorned in pop culture references were just incredibly annoying. And they committed the cardinal sin of wasting Eric Idle! I'm just glad the fourth was a big improvement.
  18. I don't know when I'm seeing it January is too dam hectic for me. Plus I'm bloody broke too
  19. I find the funniest part of this is how the ACTUAL Lone Ranger is nominated for Supporting Actor, while his SIDEKICK is nominated for Lead! They're crazy fucked up retards.
  20. Given that Tele has been working on an edit for The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey, and The Panda has said he's working on one for Star Wars, it's gotten me thinking. Are there any Fan Edits which improve in any way on their original films, and what films could be improved with a bit of careful editing?
  21. Walter Mitty's campaign just seemed to be trying too hard. I saw bus ads saying it was the new Forrest Gump. Fuck that.
  22. I got that along with The Muppets, Lego and TINKERBELL when I went to an HFR screening of the Hobbit!
