  1. Eh, maybe it's because I watched Paranormal Activity 4 before hand, but I didn't think this was awful. No, it's not in the least bit good and I have to wonder how they lured Sean Bean into something like this, but I was at least mildly entertained by the lead actress and, for as little as he's in it, Sean Bean. **/*****, (C-/D+, 3.8/10, 1.5/4)
  2. Nice performance from Washington but everything else was so melodramatic, there were cliches galore and far too much was "on the nose" from the close-ups to the music. Potentially a wasted opportunity though without Washington, this would've merely been direct-to-video schlock not even on the Oscar's radar. **½/*****, (C, 5.2/10, 2/4)
  3. Watched it today and it was awesome. The two parts together rivals the Nolan movies in some ways.
  4. Eh, it was OK and started off well enough, though a couple of the stories were better than others; the one with Woody Allen ran out its welcome after some time but I kind of enjoyed the Baldwin/Eissenberg parts. As a whole, it one of Allen's weaker movies but somewhat enjoyable at times. **½/*****, (C, 5.1/10, 2/4)
  5. Well, it depends on the size of your television (and having a solid surround sound set-up as well). If it's a smaller television, then you're not going to notice a big difference. Also remember, Blu-ray players do upscale DVDs (so no need to replace your collection), though some are better than others.
  6. Pretty good movie though once I got past admiring the stop motion, it did kind at times kind of bore me. However, the story does get a bit better towards the end even if the climax wasn't the best. Still, I did enjoy for the most part enjoy it though it's hardly perfect. ***¾/*****, (B, 7.6/10, 3/4)
  7. It's never a good thing when I was more interested in mocking it rather than actually caring about the story. Yeah, it's not bad but only because of the unintentional funny moments. Also, what the hell happened to the boyfriend? Did he just drive off? Oh, and nothing like a possession and exorcism to bring a family together! **¼/*****, (C-, 4.3/10, 1.75/4)

  9. Not criticizing, but how does 2.25/5 = D-? Just curious what your grading scale is (i.e. what would a rating would be equal to an "A", "B", "C", etc?)As for why she wasted her time, she probably made it before hitting fame with The Hunger Games.
  10. Better than I expected though I expected the worst so... It wasn't terrible by any stretch and there are worse ways to spend 95-minutes especially with Jennifer Lawrence running around like that. On the whole, there's some mild entertainment though the beginning is a big plot hole given, and I could be wrong, that was a girl that attacked the parents. **¼/*****, (C, 4.6/10, 2/4)

  13. I have to admit, I loved Dredd. Great, high octane action, and finally I can rid myself of the image of Sylvester Stallone in the role (the movie wasn't bad, but very typical of 1990s action). I know some complained about Urban's line delivery (hell even his chin) but I thought he did great with limited development (adhering to the comic book from what I understand) and Headey was effective as an interesting but prototypical villain. But above all else, the visual effects especially during the "slo-mo" sequences was amazing. This is an easy Day 1 purchase. ****¼/*****, (B+/A-, 8.7/10, 3.5/4)
  14. I know a lot of people hate this but I also found it entertaining and was impressed with the visual effects. ***¼/*****, (B-, 6.7/10, 2.5/4)
  15. Yeah, this is one of better gems of 2012 with a great cast – Richard Jennings is amazing as usual in a supporting role and Elizabeth Olsen continues to grow into a fantastic actress in the indie realm – with a story which is unique and absolutely charming. Sure, it is on the predictable side but I liked Radnor and just fell in love with the entire film. In a way, it kind of reminded me of Lost in Translation. ****/*****, (B+, 8.2/10, 3.25/4)
  16. Can Liberal Arts be added, please? It received a limited theatrical release (and is now on DVD and Blu-ray) http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=liberalarts.htm
