  1. I say we take off and nuke the entire Navi nation from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
  2. Strong legs for AQP. Horror movies are really gaining back people's interests in recent years. I don't mind saying this again: A $18m low budget horror movie is saving Paramount's ass.
  3. Cameron clearly decided he hasn't pissed off enough comics fans after the Wonder Woman issue.
  4. 16x multiplayer confirmed. rare typo from JCS agreed though, >$48b confirmed It's 4/20 - today we're all allowed to make mistakes... (except Jim, we know that's not possible). Not once, not twice, but thrice though? From time to time this thread becomes these two guys having much fun together. Or this video explains it even better.
  5. A $18m budgeted horror movie is saving Paramount's ass. Who could've seen that coming.
  6. I think I read some years ago that Cars was the most profitable movie ever made, generating over $5billion in total revenue, thanks to the overwhelming merchandise sales. In this case, Disney probably owns the alltime top most profitable movies list. When it comes to the movie's non-boxoffice revenue, Disney is the king.
  7. Man who would've thought that it's a goddamn low budget original horror movie that will save Paramount's ass.
  8. China is really the wild card. Local films have been becoming stronger and stronger in recent years and that's definitely not good news for hollywood movies including A2. On the other hand, it's James Cameron, the guy who broke China's boxoffice record 3 times and he's doing a sequel to a previous record breaker. Moreover, Titanic re-release grossed $150m in China. Granted, A2 won't have the same strong nostalgia factor, but it definitely proves that Chinese are more fond of Cameron's movies than anyone else's.
  9. To quote your projection from some weeks ago Less than 1.8b is a disaster 1.8b to 2.1b is an extreme underpeformance. 2.1b to 2.4b is far less than expected 2.4b to 2.78b is disappointing 2.78b to 3b is ok 3b to 3.3b is expected 3.3b to 3.7b is great 3.7b to 4b is fanastic 4b.. pack your bags honey we are off to Pandora So you don't think A2 will have a fanastic boxoffice result. Come on IronJimbo don't hold yourself back. You know youself you didn't type out "4b.. pack your bags honey we are off to Pandora" just because it sounded catchy.
  10. Aside from that, hurting Hollywood doesn't do any damage to Trump because Hollywood hates Trump anyway. This is why China is targeting soybeans because soybean farmers are big Trump supporters. I'd say if Hollywood becomes a victim, then it must mean the trade war has gotten to a batshit level, and by then there would be a lot of much more important things we would have to worry about before we could worry about movies.
  11. Damn I didn't even know this movie, so I went to watch the trailers, and now I can see why the big OW.
  12. Man, reddit really embraces April Fools Day doesn't it? I'm a regular visitor to the F1 subreddit and that place went nuts from yesterday. Best quote from your link. Honestly, it almost feels like it's IronJimbo who is answering the questions [–]habdragon08 Explain this [–]JamesCameronsAvatar Explain this boxofficemojo.com/alltime/world/
  13. The Greatest Showman has to be here. Even if you take 5-day as the OW, it still has a 13x mutiplier. That's a mini Titanic.
  14. So what I read from this thread is that this movie proves Spielberg hasn't lost it and it also proves Spielberg completely lost it.
  15. Attacking the film or click farming on those websites are common in China. A lot of the negative and postive comments are made by paid posters, who are hired by companies that run click farming as a business. This activity can be seen on every popular website that has a rating system, or, as long as a online rating system is popular, it's safe to assume that there are a shit load of click farming there. And this happens not just on movies, but pretty much every entertainment products. It's actully worse on gaming platforms like App Store. This of cause is not a China thing, but IMO it's a lot worse in China than in other countries.
  16. Yeah RPO should have amazing legs. You can find RPO discussions in every Chinese internet forum.
  17. I always knew you were a coward being afraid of facing Star Wars, even just in a thread title.
