    I think I read some years ago that Cars was the most profitable movie ever made, generating over $5billion in total revenue, thanks to the overwhelming merchandise sales. In this case, Disney probably owns the alltime top most profitable movies list. When it comes to the movie's non-boxoffice revenue, Disney is the king.

    China is really the wild card. Local films have been becoming stronger and stronger in recent years and that's definitely not good news for hollywood movies including A2. On the other hand, it's James Cameron, the guy who broke China's boxoffice record 3 times and he's doing a sequel to a previous record breaker. Moreover, Titanic re-release grossed $150m in China. Granted, A2 won't have the same strong nostalgia factor, but it definitely proves that Chinese are more fond of Cameron's movies than anyone else's.

    Aside from that, hurting Hollywood doesn't do any damage to Trump because Hollywood hates Trump anyway. This is why China is targeting soybeans because soybean farmers are big Trump supporters. I'd say if Hollywood becomes a victim, then it must mean the trade war has gotten to a batshit level, and by then there would be a lot of much more important things we would have to worry about before we could worry about movies.

    Attacking the film or click farming on those websites are common in China. A lot of the negative and postive comments are made by paid posters, who are hired by companies that run click farming as a business. This activity can be seen on every popular website that has a rating system, or, as long as a online rating system is popular, it's safe to assume that there are a shit load of click farming there. And this happens not just on movies, but pretty much every entertainment products. It's actully worse on gaming platforms like App Store. This of cause is not a China thing, but IMO it's a lot worse in China than in other countries.
