  1. A precise presentation of how IronJimbo & JamesCameronScholar have been taking over this thread (with occasionally another random Cameron fanboy) with those crazy predictions that only they think reasonable.
  2. Comparing Avatar's WW to the MCU's DOM average is awesome! I'll go bolder, Avatar is averaging 2,78B$ while the MCU can only manage an average of 12M$ in previews... It takes about 232 MCU movies to outgross Avatar with midnight and previews shows. I'm tempted to compare SW with Avatar but it would be pointless since Avatar is not really a franchise yet. Comparing Avatar's WW to the MCU's DOM average is reasonable when your Avatar 2 projection is something like this Less than 1.8b is a disaster 1.8b to 2.1b is an extreme underpeformance. 2.1b to 2.4b is far less than expected 2.4b to 2.78b is disappointing 2.78b to 3b is ok 3b to 3.3b is expected 3.3b to 3.7b is great 3.7b to 4b is fanastic 4b.. pack your bags honey we are off to Pandora
  3. Which is exactly my point. It gets worse. A lot of the well-respected media are also doing it nowadays (not as frequently tho). They felt these new internet-based media were taking their places, so they decided they had to do the same. This is a perfect example of "bad money drives out good" in this fragmentation era.
  4. "Insults the IQ of its audience" is a VERY common phrase that Chinese use on movies that they think the plot has too many problems and doesn't make sense. This phrase can been seen on a lot of movies' reviews, not only movies like TLJ which flopped hard, but also those that made tons of money such as TF series. Copying random internet comments is the least amount of effort you can do to write your article, but I guess these days it's common for these internet movie review websites. Not that I think TLJ is worth more postive reviews tho.
  5. A2 has had this Maoyan page for years, so there're years of people hitting the "I want to see" button before Infinity War or JW2 even had a page. Look at the page number A2 78461 only five digits, and all the other 3 with six digits. A2 will be a record breaker in China, but what you posted is not a solid argument.
  6. Hmm that's a good point. Also, I forgot to consider that there's no reason for Walberg to do that. It's not like this movie's flopping would greatly damage his career or somthing. Guess I was being a bit too suspicious.
  7. It's a good publicity stunt for creating awareness for the movie. It doen't do harm to the movie because it's not Kevin Spacey scandal level of bad. No audience will go "Oh I'm not gonna watch that movie becayse Wahlberg is so greedy." It wil harm Wahlberg's public image a little bit but look quickly they "decided" to donate the money. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/mark-wahlberg-donates-his-fee-all-money-reshoots-1074565
  8. Again, if you think Cameron's brave vision on Titanic and Avatar has something to do with a random internet user's random nonsense, you're insulting Cameron. Judging from your screenname, I assume you're a Cameron fan. I'm sure you've seen all the backlash Cameron had on this site, so make it worse.
  9. Jim's vision is backed up by his perfectism and his understanding of filmmaking. To fullfill his vision, Jim worked his ass off. IronJimbo's vision is backed up by his fanboyism and his lack of understanding of boxoffice. To fullfill his vision, IronJimbo "wishful-think"ed his ass off. These are two completely different visions. Putting them together would be an insult to Cameron's bravery and years' hard work of bringing Titanic and Avatar to the big screen.
  10. They can give the chance to another movie, which I doubt any other movie would make less than Solo.
  11. At this point Disney might just need to dump any future plan of getting a China release for Han Solo.
