  1. I think it's 43,550 for Toho (+5% from Tuesday). ETA : Nevermind, Labas beat me to it.
  2. I got Kinezo number: 12837 (+163% from last Tuesday). Can't wait for Wednesday numbers.
  3. I know right! I'm at my office, checking new posts even though I'm not supposed to use the internet on a forum like this. But it's nothing compared to him.
  4. That's great! Very close to Sunday number. I think it won't break 83000 (last Wednesday was just crazy), but tomorrow is a discount day too so it's gonna be spread out between these 2 days.
  5. Although I'm a cat person, I love Akita Inu dog! My 2nd favorite dog, after Shiba Inu, another Japanese dog.
  6. That's actually a pretty conservative prediction and Frozen will still cross 12b Yen with those weekly drops.
  7. So it actually increased again for the 2nd weekend in a row? Man I got depressed for nothing lol. And the craziness continues on Monday. Tuesday & Wednesday will be crazy too, I think.
  8. It won't do much in Japan. The first one only made $3m or something. It will probably increase, but still below $10m I think. Besides, it will be killed by TASM2 on its 2nd weekend. What an unfortunate release date.
  9. LOL you're right. People (kids?) really like ice and snow.
  10. None of them are movies for kids, maybe TASM2. But Thermae Romae 2 appeals to women, so it could take some of Frozen's core audience. You're right, TS3 also faced a lot of competitions. What worries me is that those 3 movies open at the same time. While the screen losses for TS3 happened gradually, it will happened rapidly for Frozen. But Golden Week is big enough to accommodate all of them. And if one of those movies disappoints, Frozen could get the screens back. Also Gitesh Pandya ‏@giteshpandya 1m Top intl mkts for #Frozen cash: Korea $77.1M, UK $64.6M, Japan $50.5M, China $48.9M, Germany $48.1M, France $42.6M.
  11. YEAH! Biggest animation of all time and top 10 WW! And it crossed $50m too in Japan this weekend!
  12. IM3 beat Avengers in Indonesia too. LOL. It's more popular than Thor here. It's gonna be huge.
  13. Great drop for Divergent. I enjoyed the movie and like Shailene & Theo. So I'm happy with that result. I hope Cap won't hit it that bad. Is that a good number for The Raid 2? I had a crazy fun experience watching that movie.
  14. Beating TS3 in yen or in dollar? Because I think Frozen will beat TS3 in yen and admissions, but to beat it in dollar is much harder. I'm worried about its 7th weekend, just before Golden Week. Thermae Romae 2, Partners the Movie 3, and TSAM2 open on that weekend. Their previous movies made 6b yen, 3.18 yen, and 3.16 yen respectively. So all of them could gross $30m+ or even $40m+. Detective Conan will be still playing too. Frozen will lose a lot of seats and screens. I hope it won't drop that big after spring break and make as much as possible before it's hit by those Golden Week movies. The good thing is, it will still get the holiday boost. Btw, with only TS3 gross in yen (10.8b yen, around $105m), Frozen will still beat IA4 OS and TF3 WW. And I think it will get there.
  15. Wait, what? Frozen increased from last Sunday's update? It looks like other movies recovered too today. Frozen's drop this weekend will be smaller that I thought. Sat-Sun might be bigger than its OW.
  16. Ah yes. That's the accurate one. The Passion of the Christ was not only released in Indonesia, but is also broadcasted on local TV at Easter almost every year. And, Son of God is playing at the theaters too right now. So I'm sure the depiction of Noah is not the problem.
  17. That article is kinda misleading though. According to articles from local media, Noah was banned in Indonesia not because of the depiction of Noah, but more because of the content. The same reason why it's generating controversies in America. The censorship board saw the movie, noticed some differences from what's written in the Qur'an AND the Bible, and decided it's bad for us. So they banned it. That really sucks. Why don't they just let us decide ourselves? We're not stupid. If it's not good than people won't see it anyway.
  18. So this weekend Frozen is gonna make around the same as its OW. That's still great. We're just spoiled by the weekday numbers. It looks like Doraemon also dropped from last Saturday. Very small drop, but for the last 3 years, Doraemon and other kids movies always increased on the last weekend of March, so I expected the same thing this year. Maybe Sunday will be stronger.
  19. Yeah... but maybe the last three or four days were just too crazy we became numb. And I don't know for sure, but it looks like other movies were a bit underwhelming too.
  20. That makes sense. That what I would do too. For movies with great WOM it won't really matter, but for other movies, even the "okay" ones, they will probably get hit harder. Fortunately ticket prices for 3D movies here are the same as 2D movies in most theaters (except IMAX of course) . And in the rest of the theaters, there are only $0.5-1 differences. ETA: I just checked and IMAX 3D and 2D actually have the same prices. And now they are actually 25% cheaper than 5 months ago.
  21. Why are the numbers lower than yesterday? That's a little bit weird. New movies aren't released until tomorrow. Did that happen to all movies?
  22. This ticket price increase is really interesting. And Frozen is in the middle of it. Do you think it will have a big impact on Japanese box office? Especially to the movies that are playing right now and the movies that are gonna be released soon?
  23. Wow 83k at Toho today. Will this Sat or Sun be bigger than this, admission-wise? Because that would be crazy. Even if Sat only matches today's admission number, the gross will be over $5m for one day, which means over $10m for 2 days!
  24. There were indeed a lot of sellouts today. In several theaters Frozen sold out all of its shows.
