~ SMFFH is the 12th 1m admission titles of the year in Germany and surpassed today SMHC. THE MCU rule, that every sequel is more successful than its predecessor, still stands
  2. we are still under 2016 also (even if only slightly) BP was a big reason for 2018, but earlier years had quite some big earners YTD too. E.g. 2017 had WW, GotG2, Beauty & Beast, Fate of the Furious, Logan, Despicable Me 3, Get Out, Lego, Boss Baby, Pirates, Kong,... and just a week of SM Homecoming From 2017 to 2019 there is a slight increase in average ticket price, and 0.1% in BO. A few big earners can counterbalance 2 big earners too. Average ticket prices increased up to 2018, till then no $ plus means a decrease in admissions, and that's my main concern, but decreased for now in 2019 - admission count a bit better than the $ might indicate at a first glance. As costs for the cinemas increase, pressure/demands per distributors too, I'd prefer to see considerable increases, not a stalemate or worse.
  3. I hope too for a better result at the end of the year, but less sure about of those can lessen the gap. Big difference might be December, SW9 'should' be above Mary Poppins Returns 😉 (but last Dec had Aquaman, Spider-Verse... also) Later into 2018 we had Venom, A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Mission Impossible Fallout, Grinch, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Ant-Man 2 got just released... plus some under $170m titles. Fingers crossed 😉

  5. I think they do in general less of those showdowns than in the past. E.g. SMFFH got no showdown at all, in the past a movie with a release theatre count of 4000+ would have even gotten one if the movie wasn't part of a franchise, even often enough more than one showdown. I kinda love those showdowns, not happy about that development
  6. Ahh I thought that one was an additional scene, some twist whatever. Thank you a lot for clearing that up to me I knew about the other parts being nothing newly filmed
  7. InsideKino‏ @MarkGInsideKino 2h2 hours ago More DIE NR. 1 IN DEUTSCHLAND... ...gibt es dieses Wochenende doppelt. Spitzenreiter nach Besuchern ist nach 1 Woche Pause wieder PETS 2, während SPIDER-MAN - FAR FROM HOME die Spitzenposition nach Umsatz verteidigt. Die kompletten Top 20 der deutschen Charts: http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/19/DTop19JUL11.htm … ~ #1 in Germany again two titles. #1 per admissions is again PETS2 #1 per € is SMFFH again the complete top20 chart for Germany, see link
  8. If the rumours about SMFFH needed $1b ww for the future use of SM in the MCU and so on are correct, I still think the push thing was more for that than reaching #1. Getting that near around the release of SMFFH I guess will have added to that, but not the starting point to think about the additional scenes reason. Are there any informations out about when the additional scene got filmed? The decision had to be more than a day earlier, actors need to find a common possible date first..... Even if fast, I guess all is possible from a few days up to a few weeks, but than post still has to work on it too, and so on. How much post work? I haven't seen the additional scenes, just in case: no SMFFH spoilers please. Some scenes, even if short, need tons of post work, and some wont need that much.
  9. Had a bit of short-timed problems a few hours back, but all is fine now (NB, W7, Mozilla) What is still strange: if I get new notifications the new ones are already not bold (new) anymore
  10. Deadline Hollywood‏Verified account @DEADLINE 23m23 minutes ago More #AvengersEndgame picked up 14 Saturn Award nominations
  11. Just realised: per this weekend's Disney's TS4, Aladdin,.... OS included Disney surpassed the ww $6b mark - for the titles released solely in 2019 (excluding 2018 holdovers) Too lazy to look up the 2019 ww part of the holdovers too.
  12. yes, but thats rather often happening with Disney titles, to the degree its even called typical. 😉 At least in the past, Sony,.... usually not In the last few weekends there were some pretty blue charts, I like that way better than the other way around (like sadly the last few weekends also happened) 😉
  13. Thank you! I never was on any convention, I guess its lots of fun for the people liking noises and big crowds. Not a problem with crowds as long the air exchange systems are up to the situation. Loud noises ... nit that good for me, over a longer time it makes me tired as my hearing is still above average even if I would be still in my '20 according to my last hearing test (but I do only see 2-dimensional....) I hope they have ear protection then.... especially if the record really breaks till then (depending in in which countries and with which effort its theoretically possible I guess, but I didn't read through the whole international section nor all of its OS thread)
  14. This week a lot of titles are in the blue insted of in the red I think. Seems to have been in general have been better than expected for whatever reason.
  15. Ahhh, even better. Wow, that's a lot. Here it will be early Sunday, I hope someone will upload the details about the MCU future on YT or wherever early on as I'd like to know e.g. Black Widow's release date. Feige detail: The only translation I found is 'not to grudge somebody something', but I do not like the version ~ to not react in a negative way for liking someone might get an experience he/she deserves in my POV I think there is a formulation/wording missing to say that more directly without a negative start. Will you be there? Not sure how to understand the 'don't need my ear' part
  16. Over the years I've seen many versions / theories / .... for that term and other terms meaning ~ the same. Those two titles got especially named, I've not seen posts about an increased double feature thing with A:EG or similar obvious versions, so I guess certain posts about that were based on one of the other possible reasons to call it fudge. No specific data, no examples,... = hence why I do not take those kind of posts seriously anyway 😉 like you too prefer specific data over thrown around hints if I understood your past post in general correctly.
  17. Hahaha, yes. If they'd take away then those two would have bad drops/results. Funnily, they have not bad drops it seems. Sometimes I do not know if to think its funny or sad how/why such illogical ideas even come up
  18. For me its solely my location - time needed. The few near-ish countryside cinemas seldom show what I'd like to see and their equipment isn't the best to outright bad, but to see what I'd like to see in a good quality cinemas means at least 2+ hours extra for travel time, parking place, being in the cinema early enough for.... = mostly more like 3 hours extra. Add advertising/trailer, all for a 2 hour movie, I simple have not the time for doing that more often than only occasionally I do watch at home per HV, but my main media is audio-books as I can work at the same time (depending on what work I am doing some I need 100% focus = not even music is on) Fingers crossed for your wife, you, and your family all will be as well as possible as long as possible. Weddings.... hopefully she and the groom / the other family's members are sensible.
  19. totally think so too Perlutter, Arad,... yes, both did not only not support the multi idea, but even trying to hinder it. Many stupid early decisions are based on those two. That is exactly why I hope for a day/moment like that, especially as I think a shy person had it even worse against those two loud-mouthed narrow minded macho-like behaving wanna-be film-makers (I really do not like both of them, nor Rothman, who changed from FOX to Sony after an involuntary break) For me the awareness for him starts even earlier, I was so 'afraid' about X-Men 1 then as it was ~ the first try I dared to watch after the last DC versions brought CBMs for me down. Acc to a lot of hints and interviews by the then involved, he is in a big way responsible for adding exact the details that made it ~ real and still CBM. As then at the beginning still only being an intern.
  20. I usually do not care, but I think for Feige (who is still a shy person, even if nowadays way more trained for interviews and crowds) standing before I think around 2000 people telling them THAT (and more about the upcoming MCUs), .... the idea makes me smile a little bit. Imagining this possibility is maybe the only reason I 'stan' for it reaching it in general a little bit (beside not even liking A:EG), and also for a fast enough result
  21. he is the reason even for badly received movies get one positive detail pointed out to. E.g. The Spirit (Frank Miller) Another example of a mixed received movie He did also: For Wright: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World The World's End Baby Driver For Favreau: The Jungle Book For Raimi: Not only Spider-Man 2+3, but also Darkman and Army of Darkness AoD critic example: For The Wachowskis: not only the Matrix movies, but also Bound For Rodriguez Alita: Battle Angel and others Impressive work, but also interesting how many connections he has with Marvel / Disney related directors. And ~ cult directors And an MCU actor per Fur (RDJ) For the moment he is filming the newest Charlie's Angel version. And seemingly under contract for a 20th Century FOX project I am not sure about what's happening with it for the moment: Artemis (the book written by Andy Weir, who also wrote The Martian) to be directed by another Marvel contact point, better said two: Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (they did Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)
  22. I would not watch that (counts if the whole movie is a musical, if its about an undercover assignment with some singing,... something like that would be the exception, that one I'd might give a - sceptical - try) = not sure about that theory 😉
  23. Way too blown out of proportion reactions here in my POV. Way too often happening here, sadly.
