So far, the only real threat who has gained traction on the festival circuit is Emma Stone for Poor Things. I think the studio will push Gladstone for Lead as they would want to harp on the fact that she's the first NA actress to have a lead role in a big budget film, and it would give her a stronger awards season narrative than Stone (who is already a previous winner).

The older set never really turned up for Scorsese films en masse. 10 years back, there were a lot of reports of older men dramatically walking out of Wolf of Wall Street screenings. -

I mean, how have we forgotten she started off as Country? Ofc her fanbase is DOM heavy The fact that she has so seamlessly transitioned to mainstream pop is an impressive feat in itself. -

She's so impactful that she was Drew Barrymore's cause of death in a completely different franchise 😛 -

Excellent effort by Swifties but I guess it was always Gaga's destiny to take down Joker OW next year with Folie a Deux -
Woke is an AAVE term with African-Americans good-naturedly using it for white ppl who were aware of racial differences and took action for the better. Ofc the right couldn't see good behavior being rewarded so obviously had to hijack the word and use it as an insult. It's a perfect example of why the reasoning of just ignoring bad behavior altogether and focusing on encouraging good behavior to "stay positive" doesn't work. As long as there are shit ppl, we won't be able to have nice things.

Honestly keeps changing almost every month (like The Great War went from my favorite to out of the Top 10 in less than a year) but this is my current ranking: 1. Would've Could've Should've 2. Don't Blame Me 3. Style 4. Enchanted 5. seven 6. august 7. Hits Different 8. Long Live 9. I Did Something Bad 10. Delicate Conclusion: Reputation is probably still the best album overall, fuck the Scammies. -
The only issue I have with streamers putting out auteur flicks is that it has further reduced interest in checking out "awards fare" in theatres (something I'm guilty of as well). As much as I love the guy, it's highly disingenuous of Marty to keep scapegoating silly ole MCU for the 'death of cinema' while blowing away smoke from the main culprit that is streaming, even though it's very obvious why he's doing so.

This is kinda out of touch considering the thousands of Taylor Swift song tributes to MCU characters, ESPECIALLY Wanda. There are also a non-negligible number of young women YouTubers who are both Swifties and MCU fangirls like Ashley Ippolito and fictionaldarling. Both Marvel and TS are as mainstream as you can get. Obviously there is going to be an overlap. Taylor actually being in the MCU tho will pull in more folks from her fandom who aren't in the intersection of the Venn diagram Yeah I mean... there's the teeny tiny problem of her not being able to act in films 😅 Which is why a singing role like Dazzler is more up her alley.

But Taylor's not a Bond singer type. She's a better fit for singing an empowerment/feel good/we're unbothered by the hate banger for mutants. If she manages a cross between Shake It Off, You Need To Calm Down and Karma we'll have a BOP on our hands. Or Reynolds could go in a completely different direction and ask her to sing a more earnest and emotional song depicting the marginalized experience like Seven
