I'd hope they reuse a few of the themes though. Hedwig's Theme A and B, namely, and I'd love to see Lily's Theme as the emotional backbone for the entire series. It could slowly establish a sense of mystery throughout, with the catharsis finally coming in the last film

I think the supporting cast is going to be the main issue. When I read the books, I picture most of the Hogwarts staff, as well as the Weasleys as the movie characters. The trio, on the other hand, will be somewhat easier to replace, though Emma was the most spot on of the three.

I have to look for it, but I'm pretty sure Kloves has stated that he intended for that scene to have romantic connotations between Harry/Hermione. If we want to interpret it differently, obviously we can, but that doesn't mean that it can't be seen as a romantic scene Beyond that, it was out of character. In the book, Harry can't figure out how to comfort Hermione after Ron's departure, so he just avoids speaking to her as much he can. For him to try to cheer her up by dancing, of all things, is just completely dishonest to his character as written. It's not so much the intention as it is the action, he's got the heart for it, but he just wouldn't ever do it

Following New Moon's trajectory, BD1 is now on pace for 283.2m. It needs to outperform New Moon more than it currently is for it to hit 290+

Just following New Moon's trajectory from here should get it to 282.8m. From the opening day, this has held 4% better overall than New Moon (excluding midnights). If this holds up, its on pace for 294.5m

So is DH2 on pace to outsell Avatar? I haven't tracked DVD and Blu-ray figures since 08, so I really don't know how they trend anymore

As expected, BD1 continues to follow NM (+/- 2-3% of course). Mid 280s is where this should land. 290s getting weaker
