I think legs will be decent for it. Not out of this world, because there's crazy competition over the next couple of weeks, but solid enough.

 

Most people that have seen it seem to like it. It just needs to withstand the 1-2 punch next weekend. WOM is good so it won't die on the vine.

Actually was expecting worse, but that's still pretty bad.   I visited my cousins in North Dakota a few years back, and 4 of us went to a matinee Transformers 2 showing. $10 for all 4 of us.

I don't think I've gone to an evening show in years. I only pay matinee prices which are still under 10.

Stuff like GOTG, Big Hero 6, and Tomorrowland are the types of movies that might turn out to be quite good but still underperform at the boxoffice.

 

You follow this stuff, so who exactly is the favorite to win next year (studio-wise)?

 

I think it's Fox to lose.

2015 will have two Pixar movies.  You'd think with all their success it would've taken them less than 20 years to start releasing more than 1 film a year.  Dreamworks has been doing it since 2004.
