I'm off to Man of Steel in 2D Dolby Atmos, my first time with that whole new sound thing. Will it feel like my ears are being touched for the very first time? I sure hope so.

 

At the very least, you'll dig the Atmos promo that plays at the beginning. For the movie, you'll notice more in quiet moments, I think. There's a lot more directional subtlety -- when I was watching THE HOBBIT, I heard a cough and thought for a second it was someone in the audience a row back and off to the right... and then I realized it was a Dwarf.

I'm finding myself more impressed by the Saturday number than the Father's Day "drop." It went up $1.3m from Friday minus midnights, which is really fantastic for this time of year, especially for this genre.
