CJohn
Despicable Me 2 was seriously the most fun time I had at the movies this year. It was hilarious. The Minions are the greatest creation of any studio of Animation. And I loved the Evil Minions. Which there were more moments of fun between them and the good Minions.

Goffe
Their budgets are only 1/2 of DWA movies and 1/3 of Pixar's. Small budgets are not excuses, look at Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole,
Goffe
Ice Age 3 had better visuals than Up, and the film only cost 90 million dollars! No.

Ezen Baklattan
As long as we're sharing our opinions on animated movies..the Ice Age movies are pretty obnoxious (except for #1) and Studio Ghibli is the best animation studio.

Flashforward 2013: Depp opens a western-with-a-twist with 50M 5 days on it way to...115M? Harsh numbers.
grey ghost
If I were stuck on a desert island with only one animation collection I'd probably go with Pixar, maybe even over Studio Ghibli or the Disney Renaissance. There's no way I'd be stuck watching Shrek a million times like Will Smith in I Am Legend.

efialtes76
I think DM2 will hold on next weekend: 1. DM2: $53.5 million (no competition and good WOM = 35% drop) 2. GU2: $48 million (no PG-13 comedies = a rebound for Adam Sandler) 3. Pacific Rim: $42.5 million (plenty of genre movies over last few weeks = mid-level opening) 4. Monsters U: $16.5 million (no competition + good WOM = some Pixar legs after DM2's death blow) 5. The Heat: $14 million (no female competition + good WOM = average hold) 6. LR: $12.5 million (60% drop + more competition next 2 weeks = at least it'll do better than John Carter ) 7. WWZ: $8 million (Nice hold this weekend but Pacific Rim = crash and burn) 8. MoS: $6 million (family audiences negate Pacific Rim so an average drop) 9. Kevin Hart: $4 million (5-day weekend rush + GU2 = front-loaded much? ) 10. This is the End: $3 million (GU2 = the end of its run) And where is WHD? Edited July 6, 2013 by efialtes76
