ecstasy
Pacific Rim would never do better. It is a niche film period. Not to mention it has one of the best dates in the summer I agree. Denny Green does too.
ecstasy
That's a 40% drop from last Tuesday! A great number, but not gonna lie, I didn't expect it to drop that harshly. It had an incredible Monday hold. That has to be taken under consideration.

XenoZodiac
That's a 40% drop from last Tuesday! A great number, but not gonna lie, I didn't expect it to drop that harshly. The film whose run Gravity's most closely resemble is The Departed. The Departed's Sun-Tue drop was 66.2% (with average Sun-Mon and Mon-Tue drops). Gravity's Sun-Tue drop is 67% (excellent Sun-Mon drop, harsh Mon-Tue drop). So, I don't think there's anything to be worried about.
CloneWars
What's all this talk about Pacific Rim on page one. That film was doomed for failure. I knew a lot of people who found the trailer unappealing. It just wasn't a mass audience kind of film.

XenoZodiac
Shawn, here are numbers I ran yesterday after the Monday numbers came in. Too low for Friday? Monday 6.2 Tuesday 4.5 Wednesday 3.2 Thursday 3.0 Friday-Sun 8.5 11.8 8.3 $28.6m 3rd weekend. OR Mon 6.2 Tue 4.5 Wed 3.6 Thur 3.2 Fri-Sun 9.0 12.6 8.9 $30.5m 3rd weekend. I think from this Wed: 3.5 Wed 3.6 Thu 9.5 Fri 13.1 Sat 8.0 Sun 2.4 Mon 2.6 Tue 2.4 Wed 2.4 Thu 3rd weekend is about 30.6M, though it can do better. A 20+M 4th weekend means it will cross $200M on Sun of 4th weekend (24 days). Edited October 16, 2013 by XenoZodiac
