Remember, the story was always that Raimi didn't even want to use Venom ... then he did possibly due to demands from Sony because of public opinion on Venom ... and it's like he sabotaged his own movie in the worst way by doing so.

At least that's what I remember ... it's been a long time.

Ive read some conflicting reports, overall I get the Impression that the film would have sucked even without Venom, Raimi' sandman was crap, Raimi's Harry story line development was crap. Lots of his ideas were mediocre. I must admit EMO Peter was pretty hilarious.

Aside from Spider-Man, the Marvel villains suck. DC got all the good ones. Batman rogue gallery over all Marvel villains.

Dr Doom, Magneto, Sabretooth, Kang The Conqueror, Bullseye, Thanos and Apocalypse are all cool Marvel villains.Unfortunately, Dr Doom, Bullseye and Sabretooth have been royally screwed by Fox. I just hope that Marvel can do some justice to Kang and not do a "Malekeith" on him.

I agree with everything you wrote ... even the hilarity of emo Peter.  I admit, I laughed when I saw that in theaters. Doesn't mean it's not absolute horse shit ... but I laughed.

Sony did the merciful thing by pulling the plug on the miserably suffering Raimi franchise.
