And my guesses as of now:

As close of a lock as you can get:

War Horse

The Artist

The Descendants

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Probably in there somewhere:

Hugo

The Help

Midnight in Paris (though I think it'll just miss out)

TGWTDT (might jump up to near lock once I see it)

Moneyball

Tinker Tailor

DH2 (lower in this category)

I really wish Win Win were in contention here. Until I saw Hugo, it was my favorite movie of the year. I hope it's remembered somewhere in the mix.

Almost. March had some (few) moments that I just sat there wishing they left out. It is probably my favorite political movie, though.

Ragarding Hugo, don't you think that -

Hugo should've told Georges that was his dead dad's notebook straight away. What's the point of keeping it secret?

Well I think it was so special to Hugo that he didn't want it to be lost. Plus

it added anticipation of what Georges would do with it.

If it was so special I think he would've expained to georges why he needed it so badly. i doubt he would've burnt it if he'd known. Lazy way to create anticipation imo.

Still, the rest of the film, especially when it concentrates more on Georges is magical. :D

Why the fuuuuuuuuck doesn't Ides of March have more buzz? That's an incredible movie right there.

Eh. That movie was ok, it was entertaining enough and interesting for somebody who follows politics, but it left me cold. It felt too small in scope, unimportant, implausible... The ending was rushed. Michael Clayton was the much better George Clooney politico-ethical movie...
