Synopsis

The heroic Spartan king Leonidas, armed with nothing but leather underwear and a cape, leads a ragtag bunch of 13 Spartan misfit warriors to defend their homeland against thousands of invading Persians whom include the Ghost Rider, Rocky Balboa, the Autobots, and an ugly hunchbacked Paris Hilton and a shaved-head Brittany Spears.

Critic blurb

Stefan Birgir Stefansson, sbs.is:
Everybody should be ashamed

Trivia

To date (2011), one of two movies written and directed by both Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, not to have the word "movie" in the title. The other is Vampires Suck (2010).

Synopsis

Member blurb
ladyevenstar22:
Absolute travesty of a beloved anime

Critic blurb

David Jenkins, Time Out:
Making no effort to be original, exciting, witty or even vaguely plausible, it may pass the time as sparkly fodder for 12-year-old boys with plenty of sugar in their bloodstream.

Trivia

In 2002, George Lucas was considered to direct the film. (lol, imagine)

I swear, the top 10 isn't all Seltzer/Friedberg movies :P.

Disaster Movie, the latest disposable parody of disposable Hollywood movies, has a shelf life of about five minutes, tops.

Battlefield Earth

Synopsis

After enslavement & near extermination by an alien race in the year 3000, humanity begins to fight back.

Member blurb
Telemachos:
This is one of the most inept "blockbusters" you'll ever see. On every level, it's absolute lunacy, and it's rare to find a project not only so poorly conceived, but with creators and collaborators so convinced of their genius. Had this been a typical studio project, it would've slid into development hell and never seen the light of day, but because it was a Travolta passion project, somehow it got made.
F

(On the other hand, if you're a connoisseur of unintentionally hilarious cinema, then this is one of the gold standards of the modern age, and would warrant an A.)

Critic blurb

Peter Travers, Rolling Stone:
With this kind of epic ineptitude -- hell, the flick is set in the year 3000 -- you go for "worst of the millennium."

Trivia

Forest Whitaker expressed his regret for participating in this movie.

Yep, another Zack Snyder film.  Fun fact, Snyder makes the second most appearances on this list as a director with 3 entries.  There is one last film of his that will chart soon, can you guess which it is?

300

Synopsis

King Leonidas and a force of 300 men fight the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C.

Member blurb
Ozymandias:
This is one of the corniest movies ever made.  Also, waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much slow motion, fuck.

Critic blurb

Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times:
300 has one-dimensional caricatures who talk like professional wrestlers plugging their next feud.

Trivia

King Leonidas derides the Athenians as "boy-lovers." It was, in fact, the Spartan army that was erroneously thought to encourage homosexual relationships among soldiers due to the fact that a Spartan male would live with his fellow soldiers till about 30 years old.

HALLELUJAH THIS IS ON THE LIST

Zach Snyder having three movies on this list totally makes up for the atrocity of some of the earlier picks.

lol@ Batman Returns and Texas Chainsaw being on there. I'm glad Human Centipede and Green Lantern made it. And yes, Man of Steel is bad, like really bad, but no way is it one of the worst of all time. Hopefully there's still room for the piece of shit that was Van Helsing on the list.

Obviously MoS isn't one of 'the Worst of All Time' but it's one of the 'Worst of All Time that people are likely to have actually seen'. Besides, this isn't supposed to be a definitive Worst Films list. It's just what the Forumnites consider the Worst Films they've ever seen.

This list, frankly, is one of the most ridiculous lists I've ever seen.  MOS, Sucker Punch, 300, are you fucking kidding me?  Dislike them, fine, but worst films ever made?  That's ridiculous.  Has anyone here seen films before the year 2000?  Jaws IV, Superman IV, Night of the Demon, Plan 9 From Outer Space and so on.  Whoever voted on those films to be on the list, shame on you.
