  • Despite having any important release, the weekend wasn't that bad at all, with this in mind upcoming weekends should be very strong.
  • Deadpool 2 led the chart once again and despite selling 1/3 of AIW it achieved something that only Coco did in the year, that is led the BO for 4 weeks in row.
  • AIW with this weekend tickets joined the Top 15 Attended Movies of all time.-

Huge OD for Incredibles 2 as @Olive posted (I will upload that chart with Avengers IW actuals and other movies that I found made that rank), to have an idea how big it was below I will make a comparisson with previous years June Animated Hits.

All others movies fell the hit of the screen loss but despite that fall % are fine.

Saturday 16th June Update:

 

The Incredibles 2 231.650 adm. / Total = 452.015 adm.

 

Huge Saturday for I2, despite the match of the National Soccer Team and World Cup, it managed to drop one of the biggest days of the year. It's 3 days cume already make it the 2nd biggest OW of the year with Sunday yet to come. Today is Father's Day here so, it may affect it a bit but a OW over 600k adm. is locked, with that it may be looking for a top 10 OW of all time, and a 5th-6th spot in Animated feature OW.

3M USD opening for Incredibles 2, just a week earlier and would have been 3,3M... 😥

 

Your currency is falling so fast that I doubt inflation can catch it, I went to Argentina just 3 years ago and the ER (without cepo) was 1 peso argentino =50 pesos chilenos. Now is 1:22...

With April 25th ER, this OW will mean a 4.1-4.2M USD. Also compared with DM3 it will be close in adm. but way far from it's OW in USD (4.95M).

  • Huge OW for The Incredibles 2, one of the best ever (11th overall/ 6th animated feature), sunday admissions was a bit deflated by Father's Day so it would be higher.
  • Then all the holdovers had steep drops. Despite that and thanks I2 more than 800.000 admissions were sold despite the World Cup and the National Soccer Team match.

Tuesday 19th June update:

 

The Incredibles 2 100.529 adm. / Total = 794.838 adm.

 

Today is holiday so yesterday numbers were inflated by it. Today will be massive, maybe it's strongest day. I2 sold 100k+ adm. in 5 of it's 6 days of release.

It will become one of the fastest movies to reach 1M adm.

And early predictions put it as the year top attended movie.

Thursday 21th June Estimates:

  1. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 57.288 adm. OD
  2. The Incredibles 2 30.802 adm. (-70%) Total = 1.090.728 adm.
  3. Book Club 1.333 adm. OD.

Solid OD for JWFK a 15% below of JW1 (67.638 adm), but yesteray was the national soccer team match, which hitted strong the BO. I can see it falling somewhere btw 22-30% compared vs. JW1 on it's OW (529.411 adm.) for a 370k-420k adm. OW.

Because of the World Cup, all movies drop hard yesterday, but I see it recovering starting from today till sunday.

I2 fell really hard compared with previous June animated hits, but still pacing well ahead of them, yet I see it's second weekend exceeding FD 375k 2nd weekend.

Saturday 23th June Update:

Massive saturday for the BO, one of the biggest I remember. And that's thanks to JWFK and I2.

 

1. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 168.652 adm. Saturday

JWFK is playing better than expected and heading to a 450k+ adm. OW. It's OW is set to fall less than 15% from JW1.

  • Beating any expectation JWFK opened really strong with an OW, that fell only a soft 7% from JW OW. This is very enthusiastic in therms of admissions, this will be a hit without a doubt. I don't think it will reach JW x3.9 multiplier but finishing with a multiplier over x3 will make it reach 1.5M admissions and having in mind this OW in competition with I2 and the upcoming 9th July Holiday and Winter Holidays seems very doable. Despite the strong OW, the fall in admissions and specially in ER, in USD it opened with a soft 2.5M 40% less than JW1 (4.1M).
  • I2 managed a superb OW falling of 32% coming from a huge OW, compared with previous June Animated Hits it's the best hold only falling behind IO -5% fall, and with the upcoming holidays and only facing HT3, the chances of being the most attended film of the year are starting to look more than likely.
  • Book Club had a decent OW with a small count of screens and a massive competion.
  • All others movies fell the hit of screen loss.

Sunday was really massive, stronger than saturday that already was huge, I think it was the strongest day of the year. The weekend overall had 1.035.000+ admissions really huge having in mind that it hadn't any holiday.

ER recovered 3.3% in the last two days of last week, let's see if it can stabilize its recovery or at least don't fall. Also ticket prices increased but just a btw 2.5-10 ARS depending on the cinemas chain, yet the increase is really low to have any impact in USD revenue.

 

P.S.: Today there will be a National Strike so many ppl won't go to work but cinemas will be open, so it can affect it or play as a half holiday, tomorrow we will know.

Is hard to predict what will happend today with the National Strike, if it pushes the BO it may happend today if it have a negative impact on the BO wednesday is more likely. 

I want it to reach 1.030.000 admissions to acomplish the x3 multiplier, but is looking a bit hard to happend despite the lack of new big opener on next weekend.
