Event Cinemas mustn't have much faith in the openers this weekend. Across the country the large format VMAX screens have various combinations of Entourage, Aloha, San Andreas, MMFR and Spy.

Probably around $3-3.5m for Entourage.  Roughly in line with Domestic.

 

not after that thursday number that entourage just got stateside... Entourage could be lucky to make 10m 3 day the way it's going

I put some money towards SA yesterday at chermside :)

Loved the film but I am biased towards destruction.

Did you recognise Brisbane?

He crash landed the helicopter into a Ray's Outdoors store. I'm not sure which one.

yeah i recognised a few different scenes as South East QLD. Pretty sure the road they are travelling along when they hit the fault (at the shell servo) is in the lockyer valley - i know i've driven that one - well not exactly as shown but the scenery around i recognise!

 

Going to enjoy watching this again on blueray later on and playing spot the location around south east QLD.

So what's everyone thinking for Jurassic World's opening here.....

 

Just quickly glancing around ... there are a few sellouts here and there (mostly gold class and the like) and speaking of, gold class style (smaller) seem to be all but sellouts in most cases (say 2 to 4 tickets at most).  bigger cinemas at the right times are close to 50% already, but thursday and friday during the day are looking weak so far but then that is to be expected given it's not holidays yet.  

 

to be honest very suprised that JW didn't target the queen's birthday weekend.

 

in saying all this... i'm seeing an opening 10m+ (looking for around 13m or 14m but not sure if that is realistic.)

 

for comparison

 

JP (1993) made 4.8m on it's  way to 33m

TLW: JP (1997) made 5.8m on it's way to 20.1m

JP III made 3.7m on it's way to 10.7m (wow that dropped big after the first 2 - probably an indication of not only the film  itself but a reflection on TLW)

 

JP made about 9.4m adjusted on it's OW.

TLW made about 10.6m adjusted on it's OW.

 

So taking that into account now, my fanboyism puts it at 14m.

 

Realistically.. 10m to 11m is where it should  land.

 

Anything less than 9m and it's probably a disappointment.
