So we had an 80% increase in our gross today vs Friday for PP2. So that would put it on track for a $3.6m Saturday!!

It did roughly 65% of Avengers Anzac Day gross here.

Crazy day considering Avengers did fantastically today also!

Maybe some mother/daughter combos, but otherwise I don't think it'll really affect it?

That is just massive!  

 

I was seeing 5m to 6m at most (on a good day).. didn't see it getting that big.  I mean PP only got 2.6m back in Dec 2012 (3.6m inc previews) ... so thats a 230% increase over the first film... that is just insane.. .has it really grown that much.  Also says a lot for how much this could make stateside!

I really think Mad Max is going to disappoint from some people's expectations. I just don't really see the hype. But I could very likely be wrong

Today is going to be big. I could see a $2.8-$3.0m day followed by about $2m tomorrow for a $8.5m weekend. Australian box office on fire these last few months. 

Rth, how are we going YTD? 

up 16%, UPI is now #1 for the year so far, in fact will be for whole year and may end up taking the highest GBO of a studio ever

Yeah, Sunday was only 20% down at my work on that crazy Saturday. Both of those days separately were bigger than the OW (Thur-Sun) of Pitch Perfect 1 in admits at my work.

Yeah at this rate of descent AOU could struggle to make 40m. (F7 #1 this year then????)

Especially if you consider it faces mad max next week and 2 weeks later the double of San Andreas and tomorrow land. And late legs killed by JW. 40m is gonna be hard.
