= I am guessing someone back-calculated the Euro amount with today's ER instead of looking up the in Euro written charts

 

You used a forum entry vs. Box Office specialised websites?

 

Reminder:

the biggest part of the revenue happened before the Euro, Italy's currency wasn't known for stability, the movie was a long time running / in release, might be a case of how to calculate the exchange rates out of the revenues, like per day/week/months.... or after its final run. Then the Euro came (01.01.2001, not that long after Titanic's run), the websites adjusted to that kind of writing/presenting

= as the Euro within the Euro-zone didn't change = it's still the same Euro amount.

 

 

Btw, also the THR confirmed Avatar as #1, their Dollar amount matches with the Euro in the chart posted by me.

So Disney get first spot among Hollywood's for the third year a row here (2014 Maleficent - 2013 Frozen), a big win after the domination of rivals Dreamworks and Fox in recent years (they reached top spot for 5 times between 2005 and 2012 thanks to Shrek, Madagascar and Ice Age franchise).

More interesting, Disney is able to extend this domination also out of the cinemas, as Frozen brand is #1 in 2014 and 2015 among toy properties (source NPD group) and in Home Media market (source Univideo/GFK) and Star Wars had very good chances to win in 2016.
