Box Office Forums's "Most under-appreciated films of the 2000s". Reveal starting now

Recommended Posts

First off, thanks everyone for sending in your lists. Since there were no consensus picks (apart from the top 5-7 movies),the numbers 6-25 could have all easily switched places based on 2-3 more people voting for them, but the top 5 were on 6-8 lists, and number one seemed to be on a large majority of the lists.

I will reveal the movies as and when I find the time, been pretty pressed for time the past week due to travel and work.

So let's get started.

#25:

REIGN OF FIRE

Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale fighting dragons. If released in summer 2014, this movie would easily open big and earn a lot at the box office. Someone should ready a re-release  ;)

SPACE COWBOYS

Plot: When a retired engineer is called upon to rescue a failing satellite, he insists that his equally old teammates accompany him into space.

I remember liking this movie when it was released just based on the concept. Haven't watched it in a while, may have to rewatch it to see if it holds up to the movie I remember.

CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND

Plot: An adaptation of the cult memoir of game show impresario Chuck Barris, in which he purports to have been a CIA hitman.

Directed by George Clooney and starring Sam Rockwell, both of whom will appear again on this list. This struck me as a pretty offbeat movie back when it was released, I watched it again recently and it definitely holds up well.

Really hope Clooney's on the list for Fantastic Mr Fox

And the Sam Rockwell film i'm sure will be moon but hoping it's G-Force

ALSO TOY STORY 3 NEEDS TO MAKE THIS LIST FOR PAYBACK FOR IT MAKING THE TOP 25 MOST OVER APPREICATED MOVIES. IT WAS NUMBER 1 ON MY UNDER APPREICATED LIST AS IT IS THE BEST FILM OF ALL TIME

[finished Toy Story 3 ranting for the moment]

TOY STORY 3

Plot: Like you don't know.

Please feel free to blame Films for this movie ending up on the list. We live in a world where a movie which is 99% on RT and 8.5 on IMDB and over a Billion dollars WW gross is under-appreciated.
