Weekend #s April 4-6 (Cap2: 96.2, Noah 17, Divergent 13)

Recommended Posts

TDW was too episodic in hindsight. Only the last 10 seconds and the first after credit scene have any ramifications for the universe as a whole. Thor's my favourite superhero but TWS had me far more excited for the future of the MCU. I think TDW's 'irrelevance' is reflected in the still really good gross.

I know it's something we have to accept.  But just knowing that they are out there makes you just yearn for them to help out, even just a little bit.  I think the film is really good, my favourite Marvel film (outside of Avengers) since IM1.

But if Hulk of IM showed up just for 5 minutes to help out, I think it would have made the film better.  I understand why they don't or can't but doesn't change the desire to see them there.

Is that a sequel to Frankie and Johnny, starring Pacino and Pfeiffer?

No idea. This is a film that opened limited in 2010 to qualify for the award season (it's rotten btw) and has gone wide this weekend which is funny.

For all you Summer Game players (BSG), question 19 has been added.  It's a good one too.

Sorry, don't mean to high-jack the thread.

Sorry, but how do you get that possibility?  Grand Budapest is already ahead of it and it probably still has another expansion coming.  TGBH will probably outgross it by 10-15 million.

Didn't realize Budapest had another expansion coming.  But the fact that GND is roughly 400,000 over it on Friday means the weekend will probably be roughly 1 mil over GB.  So after the weekend they should be virtually even.  But yea didn't realize TGBH had another expansion so that changes thing.

There is still a small outside shot maybe, ha?

I could be wrong.  I'm just assuming there is another expansion, but there might not be.

Thor wasn't on Earth to help with the IM3 issues. Only the big finish of TDW takes place on Earth and even that's in London. You've also got to factor the SHIELD 'situation' at these times, they're not likely to want to help out anyone which explains Cap and Widow's absences. Tony's destroyed all his suits also so that's him ruled out. Hawkeye and Hulk's absences are being explained at the start of AoU.

As my friend said about Thor 2. Shield does not give the shit about London because it is not America.

Urr, no. It's clearly not a 3/5 movie. The first half is not dull, actually the last 20 minutes is the worst part, and the movie is extremely entertaining. Very slick action, and a good script.

Yeah, not really.

I get the concept of what CAP2 was trying to be, I just didn't think the execution of the concept was that interesting.

As I said in a previous post, it needed stronger direction from someone like Paul Greengrass or Kathryn Bigelow.
