kayumanggi
Paramount's first quarter is just so barren. No doubt WB will snatch the domestic share lead next year.

Fake
^ That's very nice. Combined with $1.85B domestically, that is $5B+ globally!
forg
It really sucks Hugo had a huge production budget, if it was only made for 80-100m, it could have a chance on earning or at least not totally bombing at all. 170m is really insance for a material which is really not the blockbuster type
Warhorse
They should just wait on Star Trek 2 and release it the same year as Transformers 4, then they will have a good year that time.I'm not expecting gigantic numbers, but the trailer for GI Joe showed during MI4, and that got more buzz than the Avengers trailer. Don't count that one out. Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis are in it, and people do like them.

tufftuff
It's real easy to break the record when all you collect is an 8% distribution fee from Dreamworks and Marvel. That's 4 big movies you won't get much from.

That's 4 big movies you won't get much from.Exactly. Paramount is mostly a distributor and sometimes a co-producer. Therefore all those fancy numbers don't tell us anything about profitability and so on.
Vanilla
Cloverfield 2 been in development for years already...sounds like a new project...or thats what they want you to thinkWell the only reason I say this is because of Matt Reeves as Producer. He could be taking a back seat in helming this.
