Blankments Posted June 8, 2014 Share Posted June 8, 2014 So the strongest genres are superheroes, young adult and fairy tales, in that order.Where does original sci-fi fit in looking at recent global numbers for Elysium, Pacific Rim, Oblivion, etc?Any chance Hollywood will give up on the genre like they did Westerns? Gravity says no X-Men has too much backstory to be a GA movie. You can't just jump in in the middle of the series, like you could with something like Fast & Furious 6. I've got a freind who hasn't seen First Class yet, so he's not going to make any effort to catch DOFP in the theater.
