Ash Skywalker
A live-action 'Dumbo' reboot is coming from the writer of 'Transformers 2-4.' Disney is developing a live action “Dumbo,” based on the animated classic. “Transformers: Age of Extinction” scribe Ehren Kruger is writing the script. Kruger will produce the film with Justin Springer (“Tron: Legacy,” “Oblivion”).. - Filmstage,Variety Edited November 15, 2018 by Ash Skywalker

Jonwo
I can understand Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast as those have source materials that can be adapted for live action but Dumbo seems an odd one, the original is 64 minutes long, you would need to add more stuff to make it work as a live action film. The only Disney film I think could work as live action and succeed is The Black Cauldron or Hunchback of Notre Dame but the latter is being reworked as a stage musical so we can rule it out, maybe a live action Mulan?
TServo2049
The idea of this gives me a Babe vibe. Or at the very least, that live-action Charlotte's Web.
Films
No not dumbo. It works perfectly as an animation but probably awfully as live action

Yeah, i know it flopped, but a live action film could be better...

TServo2049
Question: Before everyone loses their shit, what are the chances this actually gets MADE? That's not a rhetorical device to say "this isn't really going to happen", but announcements like these happen all the time, and they don't all actually get made...so this isn't guaranteed to happen. The sentence above is agreeable & Very true!Well as the announcement Just came by there's a 50-50 chance that it can be made.. Once the PRODUCTION kicks in we can assume mostly, there's a live-action film coming by!

ddddeeee
I thought they were stretching it with The Jungle Book... Anyway, which comic book movie director will get this one? Burton got Alice, Raimi got Oz, Branagh got Cinderella and Favreau got The Jungle Book.

filmlover
A live-action Dumbo? Oh lord, now that sounds like "really pushing it." Well, I'm certainly interested to see how it turns out, if nothing else. Ready to see "Pink Elephant on Parade" sequence reproduced in live-action form?
