Hernan Gonzalez
Damn I wish I could have the numbers to see if this is surpassing Maleficent!! After 6 weekends on the Hot Spot, WiR and Frozen did around $10m so I think Big Hero 6 should be around that number too. What do you think? What do you think? Well, the competition of Frozen was not as strong as the one BH6 is having: the Hobbit finale, Paddington (big family movie here), Exodus, Fury, Tinkerbell etc. And still n1 agaisnt all those movies is quite a remarkable feat. That is why I think is doing way better than Frozen at the moment.

fastclock
That is GREAT! Thanks for finding the numbers. So the next q is: what would be the avg $ per ticket. Was it $13-14/ticket in "not-convertable to dollar" currency?
Hernan Gonzalez
That's awesome Boxx93!!! So, Big Hero 6 sold over 1m tickets in Venezuela too!!! Great!!! That should be $14m+
fastclock
That's awesome Boxx93!!! So, Big Hero 6 sold over 1m tickets in Venezuela too!!! Great!!! That should be $14m+ Hmm. putting Venezuela's number at $14m actually blew the lid as it puts BH6's cume at $214m worldwide vs. $212m reported. I will probably put Venezuela number at $12m for now, just so it doesn't deviate too much from the studio/rentrak report. It is entirely possible that some other countries number are not accurate. Fullbuster
Caracas Is the sixth most expensive city in the world http://edition.cnn.com/2014/03/04/travel/most-expensive-cities/ Well, the salaries are clearly far from that level! Hernan Gonzalez
I thought their tickets are as cheap as Argentina or Brazil. Colombia and Mexico are the cheapest (around $3 - $4). Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Peru are not that cheap ($5 - $6). Bolivia and Venezuela are pretty expensive.
fastclock
The key is the exchange rate. See the confusion that "Fortune" tries to explain: http://fortune.com/2014/07/22/how-to-fix-venezuelas-toubled-exchange-rate/ The numbers are taken with the official exchange rate at 1$=6.3 bolivar - which is not what the studios will get. But since BOM (and probably Rentrak) published using that number - we will just follow along.
