Actually, I have to ask where you read the budget for that. It's being continually stated Lionsgate hasn't released a budget number for it.

It was independently produced and acquired by Lionsgate after the fact, so I doubt it would have cost that much.

I remember reading that estimates had the budget at 50m, but I don't know. It was probably just a guess.

Now I'm reading the budget was 5.5m. Don't know if that's legit. Either way, that's probably different from the acquisition cost which is Lionsgate's threshold for profit in this case.

Lionsgate must have bought it for $5.5 million but the $20 million number seems to be in the ballpark.
