filmlover
The Best of Me seems like an obvious sub-$15M opener to me (and to theaters as well, almost every theater around me is showing it on only 1 screen). There's no appealing hook besides the connection to past Sparks adaptations, and there are too many titles with much more buzz taking up all the attention. lilmac
Fury - $26.4m - may go higher, this is my conservative guesstimate GG - $17.2m -Harder drop this weekend due to competition for adult men (Fury) and women (Best of Me) Book of Life - $16m -Really hard to predict Book of Life. I think it will draw out the latino audience and do good business Best of Me - $14m -No showstopper Alexander - $11.9m - soft drop Dracula - $10.6m - hard, typical drop Edited October 17, 2014 by lilmac
babz06
Fury-27m (should open right around where Captain Phillips did or higher) The Book of Life-19m (tough for this to break out with The Boxtrolls and Alexander, but it should attract latino audiences.) The Best of Me-12m I think women over 25 will still be attracted to Gone Girl. Leaving this movie for the under-25 and left overs.

Impact
Yep exactly-its a empty weekend, then again not a lot usually come out then. Brother Bear could of broken the then Halloween weekend record but it came out on Saturday instead. (Not as bad as the week after Thanksgiving or week after Labor Day of course) Also while it would be a great day to open up a horror film-it would also have the problem of being a one day only film-as it would have a drop bigger then a Twilight film the next day. (Horror films do terrible after Halloween-well duh)
