What if Paramount is just planning on adding these early release into the weekend gross? Being the ultimate fudgers they are that could add around $3-5 million to the gross.

They can't really, though. All they can say is that INTERSTELLAR grossed XXX through Sunday.

Are there actual rules though? I mean they flat out lied about TF4 earlier this year with a $2.5 million margin for error.

There are no rules. But if they remain completely silent until reporting the weekend estimates, then every box-office site is going to point out that this total includes several weekdays at a certain number of IMAX and film-theaters.

More likely is that they'll fold the sneaks into the Wednesday gross and just give the combined number tomorrow.

1.5 Million plus: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-interstellar-launches-film-745658

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar cleared the North American launch pad Tuesday night, and is expected to finish its first 24 hours with more than $1.5 million in grosses from exclusive film runs.

Those locations represent about 5 percent to 8 percent of the total box office.

The mind-bending space epic is playing in roughly 250 theaters able to project film, per the director's wishes, two days before it opens everywhere and goes up against Disney's family animated film Big Hero 6 for the weekend crown. Those with access to grosses say the movie is doing big business in Imax and 70mm runs, but is soft in many locations projecting in 35mm

Comparisons are difficult because of the unusual rolloutengineered by Paramount, which partnered with Warner Bros. on the $165 million tentpole, and it will be difficult to assessInterstellar's performance until Friday.
