A 100m OS for this movie will be a success already.
rockNrollaDIM
It might gross 50-100m in China alone, lol. I'll be surprised if they even bother to release it in Japan. Universal is worried about that and stated they are waiting until well after the US release and going to try a different campaign there. keysersoze123
Is it even getting a china release. I am not sure this kind of movie is even released in china. Firedeep/Olive can confirm if unbroken is opening in china. I doubt it will gross 100m anyway.

boogiezen
I wonder what kind of advertising this movie in China. Are they going to for the anti-Japanese theme? Or maybe trying to avoid the anti-Japanese sentiment.
DeeCee
That seems a pretty poor start in the UK.

Mockingjay Raphael
BoxOffice @BoxOffice Follow UNRBOKEN: $14M Overseas Total / $115.7M Global Total #Unbroken 12:15 PM - 11 Jan 2015
Mockingjay Raphael
"Hot off her audience with the pope — and despite a snub at the BAFTA nominations — Anjelina Jolie’s Unbroken persevered to a further $5.7M from 1,900 dates in 24 territories this weekend. That brings the early international total to $14M. In France, it was a No. 2 with $1.5M at a relatively small 315 dates. The opening fell in behind local hit La Famille Bélier which has now been atop the box office for several weeks. Cinemagoing in France this week — notably in Paris — will have been dented given the terrorist attacks in the capital which kept the country on edge from Wednesday morning (the day new movies open) through to unity rallies all over the hexagon this weekend. In Korea, Unbroken opened to $1.4M at 297 dates, a small release but with a dollar figure lower than one might expect given the emotional elements of the film. Sweden had a very good opening at No. 4 with $354K at 90 dates; Portugal was No. 1 with $203K at 44 dates; and Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland are currently neck-and-neck for No. 1 with The Hobbit"

DeeCee
I think The Water Diviner vs Unbroken battle will be interesting in Australia. Both filmed here. Jolie vs Crowe. AUD2.141 million OW in Australia. Will definitely make less then The Water Diviner. The film obviously had a lot of publicity here.
