The film enjoyed a strong opening in Russia with $4.7 million from 1.1 million admissions on 1,900 screens, comfortable nabbing the number one slot. 

 

In France, Jupiter opened with an estimated $2.5 million and 289k admissions on 392 screens.  Korea grossed $2.1 milllion with 259k admissions from 561 screens. The UK opened to $2.0 million with 193k admissions on 623 screens while in Brazil, it finished the weekend as runner-up, grossing $1.9 million with 311k admissions on 538 screens.  Mexico brought in $1.8 million and 512k admissions on 1,025 screens, while Germany grossed $1.8 million with 144k admissions from 504 screens, opening at number 2. Italy grossed $1.2 million with 137k admissions from 307 screens and Spain clocked in a 2nd place finish with an estimated $1.1m with 129k admissions on 354 screens.

This openings could be ok for a movie like Need For Speed. Jupiter needed much more. I'm not sure this is gonna do 150 OS and 200 WW even if China does good.

Yeah, maybe it doesn't have the best plot but the action sequences, the visual effects, Channing... It worth my money.

It had a mission: entertainment. It did it.
