Mockingjay Raphael
Great work! I wonder how much DH2 would make today with China, maybe $1.2B OS?
SchumacherFTW
Transformers really takes a hammering without China! Big time!
Quigley
Alice in Wonderland made $33M in China. You need to subtract that. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/china-boxoffice-tops-700-mil-25778
Quigley
By the way, this an EXTREMELY important list required to analyse a movie's success. otherwise the analysis becomes skewed. Edited May 9, 2015 by Quigley

edroger3
This is a very interesting chart, we know well that for the moment, for studios, chinese grosses (at least if they aren't enormous like FF7 or TF4) are more good for marketing than for revenues, as their share of theatrical grosses is less than half of those of mature markets and home video and tv revenues are near to zero. So I think that Frozen's boxoffice performance is still the most remarkable since Avatar.
peludo
Great work! I wonder how much DH2 would make today with China, maybe $1.2B OS? Being DH2 very big, I would be more interested in maybe 2 first Potter and LOTR. Numbers would be VERY HUGE
Olive
OS-C over 700M is a big milestone.
druv10
Great work! I wonder how much DH2 would make today with China, maybe $1.2B OS? Highly unlikely. Exchange rates are in the crapper where DH2 was a monster Japan and Europe.
keysersoze123
Highly unlikely. Exchange rates are in the crapper where DH2 was a monster Japan and Europe. Not just exchange rates but 3d has gone down the drain since 2011. Also some markets like spain/italy have weakened. So in the end any gains in china would just negate drops in other markets. I doubt Hp would have hit uber blockbuster numbers like furious 7 or AOU. Even back in 2011 it was no where close to TF3.
Quigley
If Disney released Dead Man's Chest in China, it wouldn't count as a re-release (DMC was never released there) and it could definitely earn $100M or more.
Quigley
@Killimano3 Can you update the list at the top? Basically: Furious 7, AoU, JW, Star Wars and Frozen (whose OS gross was updated recently)
Killimano3
I actually made a new topic a while ago in the China section that's updated. You can find that here: http://forums.boxofficetheory.com/topic/19452-highest-grossing-films-os-c/
