a2k
What's the record? I am guessing 4. (2007 - potc 3, sm 3, shrek 3 and tf) it's 5, 2012 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2012&view=releasedate&view2=domestic&sort=gross&order=DESC&&p=.htm 2007 and 2010 had 4. CJohn
Will we have a movie ending between 200M and 299M this year? The likely candidates are Good Dinosaur and Spectre.
4815162342
Seriously? Doom is far better than Skull. Doom is easily one of the most tonally inconsistent blockbusters I have seen. It sharply veers between grimdark blood horror and goofy campfest like an out-of-control speeding bus.
4815162342
Numbers has spoken and thus that is the way of the world. I would put Skull pretty far below Temple. Pure applesauce.

I haven't seen Skull and never will, but Doom is a big disappointment compared to Raiders and Crusade IMO. Its irritating as shit and I don't care about some Temple in the middle of some boring ass jungle.

I might like Doom more than most because that is actually the only Indiana Jones movie I have seen from the original trilogy... I will correct that this Summer, I promise. Same with Mad Max. Maybe you should see Skull because it will give you a lot more appreciation for Doom (still big step down from Raiders/Crusade).

grey ghost
Temple of Doom is like Return of the Jedi: a very iconic and memorable first and last 20 minutes. I can't say that much about Crystal Skull. Anything that might pass for iconic feels like a parody of a real Indiana Jones movie. Plus I'll take the edgy, subversive, and offensive subtext about East Indian religion for Temple of Doom over the alien/Mayan bullshit from Crystal Skull. redfirebird2008
Avengers is officially down to just 2 records in the books: Summer Starter weekend and May opening weekend. TA1 held around 30 records until very recently. JP4 just took a T-Rex size shit on said records. Pretty shocking.
