Kalo
#6 of 2005 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - 38 Points The final episode of George Lucas' cinematic epic "Star Wars" ends the six-movie series on such a high note that one feels like yelling out, "Rewind!" Yes, rewind through more than 13 hours of bravery, treachery, new worlds, odd creatures and human frailty - Kirk Honeycutt, The Hollywood Reporter. Storyline: Three years after the onset of the Clone Wars; the noble Jedi Knights are spread out across the galaxy leading a massive clone army in the war against the Separatists. After Chancellor Palpatine is kidnapped, Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his former Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, are dispatched to eliminate the evil General Grievous. Meanwhile, Anakin's friendship with the Chancellor arouses suspicion in the Jedi Order, and dangerous to the Jedi Knight himself. When the sinister Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, unveils a plot to take over the galaxy, the fate of Anakin, the Jedi order, and the entire galaxy is at stake. Upon his return, Anakin Skywalker's wife Padme Amidala is pregnant, but he is having visions of her dying in childbirth. Anakin Skywalker ultimately turns his back on the Jedi, thus completing his journey to the dark side and his transformation into Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi must face his former apprentice in a ferocious lightsaber duel on the fiery world of Mustafar. Rotten Tomatoes critical Approval rating: 79% 7.3 of 10 average IMDB rating: 7.7 Possibly the most controversial film in the countdown some people love Sith, some hate it. almost all would agree it is by far the best of the prequel trilogy, while the previous instalments were lodged down with wooden dialogue, over exposition and a extremely awkward romance. George Lucas appears to finally tell the story he was meaning to from the beginning, Anakin's fall from grace distant into darkness and ultimately transformation into Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. despite the clumping together of all prequels as terrible films many fans love to do. the film was received positively by critics, in fact some even hailed it the best star wars film since "Empire Strikes Back" it was also the highest grossing film of 2005 with over $380m. While there are still flaws in Sith, and it's acting, the performances of Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid were praised. as was the overall darker, more mature take of the film. *Revenge of the Sith was nominated for Best Makeup at the Oscars. Revenge of the Sith was the first film in the star wars series to receive a PG-13 rating. a trend that would continue with JJ Abrams "Force Awakens" #1 Placements: 2 Edited December 2, 2015 by Kalo
