Cruddy Weekend Estimates: A-M 24.77m, Pix 24m, Minions 22m, Trainwreck 17.2m, Southpaw 16.5m, PT 12.5m,

Recommended Posts

Century City, Universal and Burbank show up every week in the top 15 theaters list that Rth provides. If those theaters are not seeing enough demand to have shows post 10:30 (for the most part), then the other theaters will definitely be worse.

Meanwhile in Portugal Minions is selling out 9 PM and midnight shows. Everything else is weak. Paper Towns is no blockbuster like Fault In Our Stars and Ant-Man is not doing very well either.

Here shows are announced every Wednesday (movies open on Thursday) and they don't cut them. If a show is there at 11:45 PM and the theater is dead, that show will still happen even with only 1 or 2 people in it.

Just reminded, the real losers of the fallout of TASM2 seem to be Kurtzman and Orci. In less than a year they seem to have left or been kicked off of every project they were involved in. What the heck are they working on now? (Is Kurtzman still directing The Mummy? Is Orci still no longer executive producing the Power Rangers movie even after leaving Star Trek 3?)

And Uncharted does seem like a no-brainer.

They need to make the Uncharted movie immediately. How hard is it to make an Uncharted movie. The game is basically a movie.

Need a good lead.

Without a lead, the film falls apart. But the other thing is why make it into a movie if the game is already a movie?

I am surprised nobody has touched any of the big 4 animes from the 90s. Beyblade, YuGiOh, Digimon and Pokemon were massive. A well done movie would do big business like TMNT.

I would kill for a Card Captors movie.

Chris Pratt or Bradley Cooper. BOOM I just made Sony a lot of money.

Pratt told them to fuck off and now the project has lost his director as well. It is dead. Edited by CJohn

Reminded of how Max Payne seemed like it was going to be awesome...until the news came out that they had cast Mark Wahlberg?! Every video game movie seems like it's going to be awesome, until it's not.

Videogame adaptations is the one thing Hollywood can't make it work. Sony is sitting on a pile of videogames which could be big hits (Uncharted, The Last of Us, inFamous, The Order: 1886, Resistance, Horizon: Zero Dawn, between others...).
