Both movies have made 25+ this weekend which is quite solid by the way when has weekend in September had two films debut with north of 25 million? Never only once back in 2012 with two films above 20 million and a record breaking opening(Hotel Translyvania and Looper)

Great Weekend. Im still puzzled why studios left Labor Day to die though. One of these fall releases are going to fail because of too much competition, they could have benefited from the slow last few weeks of August.

So the question is why did the visit have so much interest? I don't recall hearing much from many when it came to the trailer. I'm talking about in real life not just on our site. I $25,000,000 opening from a guy who is basically the laughing stock of Hollywood, that also had his name prominently mentioned in the trailers, is really quite astounding. And this is going to get good word of mouth. I wouldn't be surprised to see this have 75 - 80 million finish.

Persistent marketing maybe? I didn't see anything for it forever, but then the last two weeks I saw stuff all over for it, especially online. I also wonder how much the reviews intrigued people. Not raves, but MNS' first fresh movie in well over a decade may have piqued a lot of people's interests who had maybe written it off as trash given his track record for so long. Created a curiosity factor perhaps.
