Oh these board at times, when Gravity came out lots of praise, now people trashing it just because another 'cool' movie could break its October record I do like The Martian though and would not mind it breaking the record

Is it required that every IMAX exclusive release tv spot mention Gravity ? First Everest mentions how a movie hasn't needed to be seen in IMAX like it since Gravity and now The Walk mentions it will do what Gravity did for space.

that means that movies like gravity and the martian would be even lower.. either way for october weekends in real dollars gravity is the record holder, in ticket sales it's scary movie 3

Gravity was better visually and more emotional, but I'm happy for The Martian. Good return to form for Scott.

A vocal minority has been "trashing" Gravity ever since it released. And bear in mind that some people liked it on the big screen, but upon second viewing on TV were disappointed. There have been plenty of people expressing dislike for Gravity certainly over the past year on this board.

 

Gravity was a movie meant for the big screen in 3D. It doesn't make it a lesser movie. In the old days movies were only meant for the big screen.
