Fanboy Wars Thread: Personal Attacks not allowed | With Digital Fur Technology

The problem is, is that those executives at Warner Brothers are so full of themselves, that they fail to see why Marvel is so successful. They think Green Lantern's failure ='s too goofy, too silly etc... Now they seem intent on making all their comic book movies dark and serious.

I even wonder why they didn't just sell all their DC properties except for Batman and Superman. It's pretty clear they have no real interest in any of them until recently (which was largely a response to Marvel's success).

Yeah I remember reading with the GL the poor director had no control over the production.  The suits kept interfering at every turn. But I think Snyder must have had more creative control than that guy did.

No I think it would be better for DC fans so they can finally stop complain but not getting there movies made. If Marvel owned DC they would make there movies.

weird since Snyder is a bad director and the other guy made Casino Royal and Goldeneye.

DC needs to put the people who did their Animation Dept in charge. Marvel's big thing is that everyone at the top loves and knows the comics and the characters, and their best films have come from directors and writers who've also had a passion and affinity for the characters as well.  And Feige knows how to put it all together.

Yup, Marvel's creative committee is composed of super-smart people who innately understand and appreciate the characters. and it shows having these types in charge pays off big.Warner Bros should just swallow their pride and carbon copy Marvel Studios' structure and creative process.

Martin Campbell. He's not a great director looking at his overall work, but I've never seen him direct something as poor as Green Lantern (Vertical Limit and The Mask of Zorro were mediocre).

As for Zach Snyder, I'd say he had some control, but MOS feels like an attempt to copy Nolan and less of his own style (in part because Nolan helped with the story and his Batman trilogy was very popular). Batman Vs. Superman looks worse because those other heroes are more than likely being shoehorned under studio order.

Man From Uncle was finished ages ago and shoved to Jan - I'm guessing it didn't test well

Jungle Book: Origins released a almost a  year after the Favreau one smells of disaster.

Add this to having a planned series on King Arthur directed by Guy Ritchie and well their DC division isn't looking as bad. :P

Yeah. They're kinda in a jam though, since they refuse to make any DC comic book films between Batman and Superman and Justice League.

Yeah. Their kinda left in a jam though, since they refuse to make any DC comic book films after Justice League though.

And you know this how?

From all indications, JL is the launching point for their movies, based on everything that Diane Nelson, Tsujihara and Geoff Johns have said.

They did? i was not impressed with them DC is always talking about making movies but goes into protuction. At least Marvel makes the movies they say they will make. If Marvel was like DC they would announce Iron Man 4, Rocket Racon, Star Lord, Hulk 2, Thor 3, Captain 3, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, GOTG 2, squirrel girl, Moon Knight,  Daredevil, Inhumans, ect.

Hasn't DC said they have been working on Flash movie since the early 2000,  Only Marvel movie that kept being said it was being made was Ant-Man.

DC haven't announced anything officially to date. If they had announced movies officially and then didn't make them, we could complain. Complaining based on rumors is really silly.

The only movie they had to kill into production was the JL movie in 2007 when Australia decided to pull tax credits.

I meant inbetween and I corrected that. I'm not a fan of it personally.

Also I'll believe it when I see it. They've been saying this stuff for years. After Green Lantern flopped, they just seem too scared.

People keep talking about Flash because DC had commissioned a screenplay from Goyer which they didn't like and shelved the movie. The Guggenheim screenplay is the basis for the upcoming TV show.

The only official announcements made regarding movies being made by WB/DC were the movies we got. If WB put a movie into production, we got it made. Like I said, the only exception was the JL movie by George Miller which was shelved due to the Australian tax credits and the 2007 writers strike which meant no new drafts of the script.

The Justice League failure was for the best for there Nolan Batman movies. Imagine if WB would have fired Nolan after Batman Begins since he would not want his Batman be part of other DC movies.

Well either way, they need to make at least one DC adaptation a year if you ask me. For all we know, the superhero genre could somehow collapse all of the sudden.

The mere fact that we likely won't see any solo DC films until after Justice League is just something I find disheartening to be honest.

I think Shazam will come before JL though. The big 7 will not get solos till after JL (and if rumors are to be believed Affleck has not signed on for Batman solo movies yet). But honestly, I am fine with no solos till after JL, get Aquaman, Flash and GL their spotlight without them having to carry their own movies.

But they were planning on making Justice League WHILE he was doing The Dark Knight.  They were going to have 2 Batman's.  It would have no effect on that film.
