Moonraker was last big break the mold for a bond gorss before Skyfall and its follow up For Your Eyes Only did 70% of Moonrakers gross. Spectre needs 213 to do that. Seems about in line.

That was Goldeneye which did almost triple LTK.   $34,667,015  to $106,429,941 which then pretty much re-established the base in terms of admissions in the US until Skyfall.

Per BOM estimated admissions:

LTK: 8.7m

GE:  24.4m

TND: 26.9m

TWINE: 24.8m

DAD: 27.6m

CR: 25.4m

QOS: 23.5m

Skyfall: 37.8m

From the Deadline write up

78% over 25

That's really not reaching the younger market

I mean, it’s not like the snow bunny that Bond bed in For Your Eyes Only, Bibi Dahl, arrives and announces “James, it’s been 34 years. I’d like to finally introduce you to your kids.”

Hey, now for once Bond showed some restraint. He did not bed her, he told her to put her clothes on and bought her an ice cream

Uh wow, just realized DL has The Martian dropping only 19% for 9.5m this weekend?  Thats amazing given the loss of IMAX and SPECTRE opening.

Botany Powers

Same goes for BoS' continued incredible holds in the face of Spectre, and HT2 and Goosebumps' impressive ones with Halloween being over and Peanuts opening.

iSpot.TV estimates how much each is spent on TV advertising for each film in the U.S.  Variety runs a weekly column using their data as well.  The numbers are usually a week behind.

Thanks. So is 21.5 mill so far spend or that week only?

Cumulative, but whether it's as of today or last Sunday isn't clear. It's about half what WB spent on Mad Max and Entourage and less than they spent on UNCLE.  Less than Universal spent on Jobs.  But these ad spots don't include the Heinken ads etc which is where Bond cross promotion comes into effect.

We'll see how WC performs but them numbers seem optimistic to me. Bond more like 26.5, Peanuts 12.3. Martian another spectacular hold and 118% increase.

26.5 (with 5.25 coming from Thur) would probably mean a sub $70m w/e, close to QOS unadjusted (and DAD adjusted)
