Wednesday The Force Awakens Estimates - 28M (Rth) | 27.2 - 27.9 (DHD)

Recommended Posts

Okay, following up on my post from awhile go, there's now a thread to discuss college football. Take the game discussion there.

CFB can be discussed here, within the narrow context of how it directly affects the box office. So if you want to talk demographics, ratings, etc, that's fine. Anything else -- game analysis, team discussion, last year's games, commenting on live play once the games start, etc -- should go in the CFB thread. If it shows up here, we'll remove it.

Don't think it's them being conservative. The movie can't stay hot forever, has to lose steam at some point.

I think it's very conservative. They're predicting it pulls in the same amount as it did Mon-Wed. Last weekend was almost 30% over last Mon-Wed. Even if this weekend is only 10% higher that's still $98 million; $30 million over Avatar's 3rd weekend.

Thanks for the clarification. Sorry to the forum for my major contribution in that mess.

The biggest demo for the games will be 17-35 mostly males which is the biggest for NYE parties(and women). Not a good day for the games.

SW7 skews above 25 with a good portion of the fan base above 35. With women and older men and I assume most fan boys not interested the games, I see a vast majority of the fan base not interested in the game. The drop for NYE is already accounted for since we have an overlap. Yall are over righting the ship for the AOU boondoggle.

Anyone up for an o/u -25% $10 donation

I will take less than 25% drop.

Shouldn't we be getting an official estimate/actual soon, or does the holiday affect that? How long ago did rth/dhd post/change their estimates?

Disney is reporting $28.1 million, that's on Deadline's website in their last update. Not sure when BOM and other's will add it to their totals.

You might have missed it (in so many OT posts... not only about sport = not to bitch, but to point out that those also are often the reason to 'loose' infos...)

Baumer, me and... posted in severel per day threads already: some studios give details during the holidays (~), some not at all, some adjusted estimates early on....

As far as I know / understood the formulations latest at 4 January all the real actuals will be released, as far as studios even release those. Not all of them do it daily or....

= doesn't mean all of them are estimates.

And the adjusted estimates seem pretty near to the finals, as far as we got them to compare to later released ones

The Numbers is the only one who has SW 7 up (since quite some time, btw, see the graphic charts I posted some pages back), but it's in green color = estimate And the only number they have updated already.

All the ones beside that are from BO.com, who are usually the earliest to give them incl percentages.
