Weekend Actuals: The Force Awakens - 90.2M !!!

Honestly, I'm more interested in today's number than I was the weekend total. Now that the holidays are over, lets see how it holds. I think we could get over $10 million today and stretch the run to 18 days (though I'm not banking on $10 million, $8.5 million is my early guess).

I think 8.8m is about as optimistic as possible. Something in the 7's is pretty likely.

RIP January record.

For once, TFA actually reaches a milestone

Two at once, as I think a $90.2m for a 3rd weekend is also a (smaller 'looking' than $100m) milestone

Also, any of you guys know if it's gonna show up in January record on boxofficemojo? They seem to only keep track of Opening week-ends for the record, not subsequent week-ends.

edit: the-numbers is listing TFA as #1 for January http://www.the-numbers.com/movie/records/Biggest-January-Weekend-at-the-Box-Office

We're gonna have to wait for boxofficemojo to update their numbers.

Guess you guys aren't happy until this has every record out there <_<

Taking my post at face value too much, are you? :P

This was more of a funny nod toward all the numbers TFA has been posting since the beginning of its run, namely...

248 OW

149 2nd W-E

49 M 2nd friday

496M 9-day gross

Maybe I forgot a few.

Now we got a 90M 3rd week-end. My inner OCD is happy!

something many may not realize; Lots of schools don't return until tomorrow or wednesday.  Pretty much the entire DFW metro and a big chunk of Texas. Perhaps a little higher Monday than we probably expect?

Was it also the case in 2009? If yes, I guess it won't make much of a difference.

So today is going to be not only the first sub-$20m day but also the first sub-$10m day? Seems very possible we may have to wait until Wednesday for Avatar to fall.

Wait for Avatar to fall? Don't get the anticipation for something that was pretty much written to happen like a week ago. Thankfully worldwide, Avatar will still be king. :) I doubt the movie will make lower than 10m today.
