I feel like there won't be many surprises tonight except for the TV categories since they're always screwy.

Not sold on Scott winning director when the movie likely won't even win in the Comedy category. Again, I think Miller winning and MM in drama could be big upsets tonight.

Mad Max is a definite possibility, but I still feel like they'll give it to Spotlight since HFPA always tries to predict the Oscars.

Yesterday I made a comment about how dumb it would be if a film like the revanent were to be the first film to take #1 away from tfa a user asked me (my quote button is acting a little weird) if 13 hours or ride along having that distinction is any less dumb I didn't feel like responding at the time but the truth is I had already asked myself this and I came to think of it like this

IF THAT OCCURS (I'm not going to bet against it but who knows with this run) it will mean that no one movie was able to do it on its own it will mean it took the combined PULL of 2 AND ANOTHER HOLDAY WEEKEND to finally pull off the feat if you count this film's overperformance then in th admittedly likely event this IS tfa' s last weekend at #1 you could say it took the combined PULL of THREE films and another holiday weekend to finally knock it off the perch

Still fucking incredible

I want to see JLaw winning her 3rd Golden Globe. It will be the only time she gets anything in this Awards Season. I am not even sure if she gets nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars.

And holy fuck, that's an AMAZING OW for TF!!! And it increased on Saturday?? Insane legs are coming, NATALIE, HER POWER

Yeah, that's a really great OW for it. It basically followed Krampus' pattern. Interesting that we've had two horror films in a row increasing on their first Saturday (The Visit also did it too in September). Wonder if this is a new pattern for the genre, less frontloaded?
