I was 9 my sister was 7 and our parents took us to see Beverly Hills Cop.  That movie is filled f bombs, has a scene in a strip club and ends with a violent shoot out

that strip club scene was more funny than sexy; it wasn't a hard R. i don't know what kid (maybe pre-school) would be traumatized by that movie, but nowadays...

grim22, I think a few major factors drove the lack of goodwill with XMA:

-no Wolverine or old cast

-the lack of anything new or fresh on two fronts (1) the movie recycled tropes from past movies and (2) it had ANOTHER generic villain trying to end the world

I respectfully disagree with iJackSparrow. Some critics like John Gholson argued for the Singerverse to end at DOFP, but not most or all. And the audience did not seem to be screaming for that.

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/jennifer-lawrence-big-draw-for-x-men-fans-survey-finds-1201190379/

"Among other findings, 88% of those surveyed said they have seen the previous “X-Men” movies on the big screen and 82% are looking forward to the next film in the franchise, “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Not having the energy to read through the whole thread = no idea if it got already mentioned:

I think the $7b mark for dom will be reached this Saturday.

Personally:

SS has a release date of August 18 here,... I still haven't had a chance to watch e.g. Star Trek Beyond = fingers crossed I'll have time to watch a few movies in August.

Hi! Good to see you. :)

Fair enough. Little Wolverine.

There has been a lot of chatter about Deadpool making an appearance in another X-Men movie. But, I wonder about another possibility that might be able to help: Cable. Cable will be introduced in the Deadpool sequel. He can travel time. If he really clicks with the audience, then maybe he could bolster interest in an X-Men sequel if the movie was good and did something different.
