Wasn't it not even supposed to have a 2 multiplier???

Read what I said. Switch BvS to this date and would probably have a 2.4. Switch SS to March 25 and would probably have a 2 multiplier. The first two drops between the two are incredibly similar. Then BvS faced Jungle Book while SS faced the emptiness. On this same weekend BvS faced CW. SS faced more emptiness. SS also had a holiday bump last weekend. BvS didn't. The movie is poo. WOM is bad. It just got lucky with the release schedule.

A bad WOM movie having great holds WW. Must be a new phenomenon.

Agree but I would say the WOM seems to be more average than bad.

It is August buddy. Bad holds in August OS don't exist. It is the 2nd biggest month of the year, sometimes the biggest in many countries.

also this is why some I think over predict GOTG 2 as while the first GOTG had very good WOM it also benefitted from an empty August besides Ninja Turtles. More competition could prevent GOTG 2 from increasing
