150m? I think under 100.

:jeb!:
For what its worth on Lego Batman - I saw JW2 and saw a lot of moms with their young kids going to the movies.Problem is.....They were seeing 50SD. I've never seen something that gross before.. And when I finally got into the theater for JW2, some moron decided to smoke pot in the theater. Hooray for America!

Every mother that takes their kids to see 50SD should be ashamed of themselves

Here is an interesting picture about the $ spent on family films recently.... I have been saying for awhile that I think animation is in for a HUGE slow down in 2017 and Batman is only helping to support my theory. Look at the huge disparity in just 3 years.... and that isn't including films that have a decent size family audience such as Star Wars or the Comic Book films.

Family Films Last 3 Years
2016     2015     2014
Dory 486.2   Inside Out 356.4   Lego 257.7
Pets 368.3   Minions 336   Big Hero 6 222.5
The JB 364   Home 177.3   Dragon 2 177
Zootopia 341.2   Hotel 2 169.7   Rio 2 131.5
Sing 263.7   Spongebob 162.9   Night Museum 3 113.7
Moana 242   Peanuts 130.1   Peabody 111.5
Trolls 153   Good Dino 123   Penguins 83.3
Angry Birds 107.5   Alvin 4 85.8   Alexander 66.9
Storks 72.6   Paddington 76.2   Nut Job 64.2
Ice Age 64   Shaun the Sheep 19.3   Planes 2 59.1
TOTAL 2462.5     1636.7     1287.4

I can now see this happening, 2017 seems like 2011 in terms of Animation box office all over again.

Yes, I have noted before the similarity between 2010 and 2016 in terms of family films (the last time a year was on crack) and the next year which incidentally also included a CARS film was way way down in comparison. Eventually you run out of $$ to spend. If it wasnt for DM3 coming out this summer I would be prone to say that no animated film grosses higher than 225m this year - but we shall see cause there can always be a surprise.
