Um.... what about Scream, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th? Is it actually a slasher film? Before I get my hopes up. Yeah, it is a slasher, it has some scenes that are identical to Scream, which sounds to me like a beautiful homage (the whole scene at the hospital’s parking will remind you a lot of Scream 4). pretty reckless
lmfao of course those movies were teen movies, please tone down the hype a bit. no way is this better than scream
Boxofficerules
I was 12 when Scream came out and me and my friends saw that in the cinema about 10 Times.

Ouija is a teen movie. One Missed Call is a teen movie. The Bye Bye Man is a teen movie. Texas Chainsaw definitely isn’t a teen movie. And I never said it was better than Scream, although, it’s far superior to Scream 3.

Good for you, dude. It still not a movie targeting your demo, it just became popular with them.
The Stingray
Scream, Halloween, Elm Street, F13 etc. were all targeted towards teens.

Any why they turned them into R, which in theory would stop their target demo from watching the movie?

R ratings do nothing to prevent the demo from watching the movie, in fact, it makes them much more enticing for them. The forbidden fruit nature of it all. I don't think so, I'd say people just didn't like the idea of looking at a Skype screen for 90 minutes. That's what killed it.

It’s main demo was clearly excited for the movie, but they couldn’t attended to it thanks to the R rating.

I doubt it, it didn’t do very well over here either and it got the equivalent of a PG-13 rating. It was gone from theatres after 3 weeks. Krissykins
Yeh they’re all teen movies. R in America is anyone over 17 anyway is it now? Happy Death Day producer confirmed to me on twitter that it’s a slasher. Sorted! First slasher to be released wide since Texas Chainsaw in 2013. Also a #1. Mockingjay Raphael
I thought that the development of Tree into a better human a lot more Intersting than the slasher part, but that’s probably just me.
