I do not think basketball finals affects the box office too much.  We have phones to watch the game on.  There is 7 games.  NBA is scheduling the finals games that make it box office friendly.  Tonight is the first test, but the last few years it did not do anything.  It starts at 9pm on the East Coast.

The misleading marketing is why most of us are shocked at eh CinemaScore.

Another sports rating thought is summer baseball.  Every Friday night, there should be about 14 baseball night games in huge cities.  Each city might draw 1M+ viewers.   .......Right??

It Comes at Night is an incredible gutpunch of a film if you allow yourself to become absorbed in the film's world. It's one of the few films this year that feels like an experience to me.

The film's pacing is nowhere near as fast as marketing suggests. A lot of plot details are kept under wraps as well.
