For a minute there Heigl and Gerry Butler were doing multiple romcoms a year, genre never stood a chance

That was the time even McConaughey had abandoned romcoms. The genre really needed McConaughey, McAdams and Hathaway to become the next romcom force taking over from Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant/Richard Gere and Sandra Bullock. Instead, we got The Ugly Truth.
