Agreed but it is still a good thing to win so I don't think the acting noms were as locked as this previously

Ezen Baklattan
I can see a scenario where... 3B = Revenant SoW = Big Short And something like Get Out can sneak past them to win.
The Panda
I’m just going to predict a Get Out win, just in case the preferential ballot keeps the trend of going screwy. I’m too up in the air on TB/SOW to predict so I’ll just opt out and go for the long shot.
WrathOfHan
I still don't see Get Out having greater than a 5% chance at winning. Spotlight at least had a consistent presence in Original Screenplay at precursors (won WGA/BAFTA and was nominated at the Globes); Get Out's only precursor win is WGA where Three Billboards was ineligible, and it missed a Globe writing nomination. filmlover
I think Three Billboards is just gonna take it at this point and there's just no stopping it. The Golden Globes and becoming the most relevant movie to Time's Up is where it all began.

Jake Gittes
I wonder how high the odds are of a Best Picture-winning Three Billboards being about as ridiculed a decade from now as Crash is today.

CoolioD1
sam rockwell is literally just a dumber version of matt dillon in crash pretty wild he's about to win an oscar for that.
filmlover
I usually find it interesting to see what Best Picture nominees have the longest shelf lives after the ceremony and which ones just fade into obscurity. For example, I'm sure Call Me by Your Name and Phantom Thread will always be popular in cinephile circles, but something like Darkest Hour is likely to be largely forgotten about other than as being the film that finally won Gary Oldman his Oscar.

Jake Gittes
Argo is just kinda there as far as winners go. Not worth particularly strong feelings either way.
CoolioD1
i don't think anyone considers argo one of the better or worse winners. in terms of recent it's better than king's speech and birdman but not as good as 12 years a slave, spotlight or moonlight. just kinda sitting there in the middle.
That One Girl
I think Birdman's actually my favorite BP winner from this past decade, but the irony is I was still mad when it won because it won against Boyhood. None of the BP winners from this decade so far have been my pick to win so I'm hoping that changes and Shape of Water wins it this year.
