Ephemeris
Tuesday-Wednesday drops last week -> this week, for last week's top 7 on Wed: Black Panther: 29.1 -> 16.2 Pacific Rim: 47.1 -> 26.7 I Can Only Imagine: 30.2 -> 19.8 Sherlock Gnomes: 32.9 -> 17.0 Wrinkle in Time: 27.5 -> 18.1 Tomb Raider: 39.9 -> 24.3 Love, Simon: 23.3 -> 13.5 Not sure why, but it looks like Wednesday was inflated. With that in mind, it makes sense that drops are bigger on Thursday. Edited April 6, 2018 by Ephemeris
Ephemeris
Mendelson with the early Black Panther number: Quote With around $1.3 million on Thursday and a new domestic total of $656.921m on day 49, Black Panther could (and probably will) cross the $659.363m lifetime gross of Titanic (counting the reissues but not accounting for inflation) on its 50th day to become the third-biggest domestic grosser of all time. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2018/04/06/box-office-today-may-be-the-day-black-panther-sails-past-titanic/#3587bddf7835 So that's between $1,297,121-1,298,120 to be exact, based on that 656.921 number. 7.1-7.2% drop from Wednesday. 5 3

Last Thursday was very strong for AWiT, as were the weekdays, so this might just be reverting to mean. --- I mentioned Tomorrowland late last night for a reason. I wanted to see what AWiT's final totals would be if it followed TL's weekly drops exactly from this point on. AWiT has beaten TL's weekly drops each and every single week so far (this week that just ended has about a 33.9% drop for AWiT versus TL's 49.9% drop). Doesn't mean it will continue to do so. Especially since TL had an good Week 5 drop and AWiT is coming off a strong post-Easter week. But it's a sign that 100m is NOT off the table quite yet for AWiT. It just needs to have slightly better drops/holds than TL. The sooner the better for it. ... Or Disney can leave it in theaters for eight more weeks to get that last 1.2m. @CoolEric258 @MovieMan89 Edited April 6, 2018 by Porthos
