Oscar bump in recent year.

The gross from all the nominated film after their oscar nomination til oscar night.

2012 - 323m (9 films), the best in this decade with no clear solo leader, almost every films received great bump.

2013 -  146m (9 films) , led by american hustle and wolf of wall street

2014 - 416m (8 films), american sniper alone contributed 316m

2015 - 177m (8 films), the revenant made up of 116m

2016 - 172m (9 films), led by hidden figure and la la land

2017 - 129m (9 films), worst in years, even the post only made 34m.

2018 - could be even worse....possibly below 100m, just like 2011

Where are all the people? Aren't you all tired of VFX/action filled flick? Come and enjoy all these dramas

@a2k Deadline predicting $7.06m FSS for Fishboy. $340m+ back on the table?

TLJ added 2.44x this weekend to it's cume.

AQM will do 335 if it adds 2.66x this weekend to it's cume.

AUJ added 2.87x.

Django added 2.93x.

AQM will do 337 if it adds 2.95x.

AMQ will do 340 if it adds 3.37x.

Jumanji added an amazing 4.51x.

Don't know about 340 but 335+ looks nearly certain using 7.06 weekend / 316.2 cume

The Upside's been following the performance of The Bucket List to a tee (minus Bucket's limited debut). It might even outpace Glass by the end. Don't think anyone expected that to happen.

It's looking to be a three way race to #1 next weekend between that, Glass, and Miss Bala (which I'm thinking will settle for a $7-8M opening).

To be fair, most of the Best Picture nominees are either not in theaters or already out on digital. And with stuff like ASIB and BR, the people who wanted to see it likely already have months ago. And of the only movies in theaters not on digital, Green Book is the only one that has any appeal towards general moviegoers (Vice is diviceive, Favourite is very esoteric).
